There is a new podcast on Radiolab regarding the recent legal black rhino hunt in Namibia. Well told story and accurately portrayed. Go to Radiolab.org and listen. I used my podcast ap on my phone.

This is from the public WNYC in NYC so a great deal of folks have heard this accurately told story.

Very good episode. I did not know that Corey get the hunt by doing a favor for John Jackson to get the ball rolling on the auction. That he followed through and kept in the right spirit of the thing says a lot about him. The show illustrates how so very complicated the hunting/conservation question is.

Good and worthwhile.

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

I was in the front row of a presentation the Radiolab guy gave in Phoenix recently. I didn't want to go but MsAZW did.

I really think you should listen to this story i hope I put the link up correctly the story is on the top.

we can only hope more non hunters listen to reports like this.

I said non hunters not "anti" hunters

There are more young people who like to learn about interesting topics I am glad Radiolab is doing this.

Just listened , this was an excellent report. Leakey came over as an absolute bafoon. One of the best pro hunting reports I've heard in a while.

Wow great piece done by WNYC and thank you for sharing it. The really interesting thing is the comments section about how many people were actually wanted to hate Corey but after hearing the segment changed their mind.

First this piece from WNYC and a great article in the NY Times. How has NYC done a better job getting the message out than DSC and SCI?

So Leakey compares sustainable use hunting to the raping of a girl at the approval of her father? I had to listen to that several times just to make sure he actually made than analogy.

Sure enough, he did.
