Sadly Martin passed away the other night.

I don't know anymore than that.

I know his family are honourable and if you have a hunt booked i am sure in due course they will contact you.

Died Sunday night after boar hunting in Turkey from a brain clot.
Talked to him a bit and was a very nice person.
Shame as he has a wife and two young children.

Heartbreaking news. I was fortunate to get to know Martin a little after he had graciously offered up a free buffalo hunt here on AR that I won. We shared many phone calls and emails preparing for the hunt, but as fate would have it, a sudden illness put him in the hospital the day I landed in Joberg. I still went on to Mozambique for the hunt, and Martin checked in almost daily from his hospital bed to make sure everything was going smoothly.

A hardworking man of character that will surely be missed. Prayers for his young family. I can't imagine what they're going through.

Guys,

I was shocked when I heard of Martin's sudden demise. So young and with a young family too. Tragic! I was very much looking forward to meeting him and doing our hunt in Spain next month.

I've tried his cell and e-mail with no results. Does anyone have any other means of contacting Martin's family? I'd like to express my condolences and to find out if there is any plan in place on how to handle Martin's forward bookings.

THX

Mark

My heart goes out to Martins family. We now will not get the opportunity to meet and hunt with him. So sad, so tragic for a young man with a family.
BTW, we were scheduled to hunt with Martin mid Oct. this year. I had not heard from him in weeks as he had told us he would contact us prior to our hunt. It is truly sad for his family and the hunting community to loose such a nice young man. We are diminished by the lose of such a good man. MTG

Folks,

Martin's brother Daniel Rodriquez contacted me this AM asking for my phone number so they could call.

If any of the our members or lurkers have hunts booked with Martin you might also try contacting Daniel with your contact info at Fotoviaproduction@gmail.com.

Good luck!

Wow!

RIP, about 4 or 5 years ago when we were living in Germany I called him about doing a hunt in Spain. I fully expected someone that couldn't speak English. So I put Cheri on the phone and instead of speaking Spanish to my Spanish speaking wife he spoke to her in perfect English.

I didn't know he had a young family.

God Bless your Family Martin, I am sorry our paths never crossed.

Update:

Martin's estate is not yet settled. It has been a mission as his wife Alicia just now has had word that the Turks will release Martin's belonging from his room where he died. Legal wrangling is ongoing in Dominican Republic and Spain over heirs.

Alicia's goal is to make everyone whole that had deposits down with Martin but it may take some time.

I personally am doing a hunt in November with Martin's partner Dani Marti. Will report when I return.
