When in Etosha we pushed our 20x digital to 80x and ended up with this impressionistic Elephant rendition. Pure accident but I love the way this looks.

Thats awsome,
I think it captures the mirage effect of the desert to a T.

I have walked in the foot prints of the elephant, listened to lion roar and met the buffalo on his turf. I shall never be the same.

Great pic. I think it would look cool if you converted it to black and white. Then, convert it to an infrared look. Many photo mainipulation programs offer this option. It is so grainy that the infrared would be dramatic.

But it's also absolutely beautiful just the way it is.

You got me on that one. Even though my Father was and my one sister is a fine artist I was not familiar with Manet. I looked at some of his work thanks to Google.

I think I'd say the ele pic is more a Monet in feel.

You are right and the style of Monet was dictated by short crossed brush strokes.

It is often the impression and not the resolution that defines an image.

Great photo and no need to paint it my friend.

Yep,
I not only live within sight of Curahee Mt. My office sits where the base used to be.
When i am getting ready for a hunt out west i climb the mountain a couple times a week.

I have walked in the foot prints of the elephant, listened to lion roar and met the buffalo on his turf. I shall never be the same.
