I need a cartridge holder specifically for the 500 Jeffery. I'm talking about the type that mounts on a belt. The only criteria I have is that the maker use good leather with stiches that are tight and straight. Any idea where one could be purchased??

How many rounds should a cartridge holder this type hold??

Thanks

Trader Keith's. Without a doubt some of the finest cartridge holders and ammo belts for the money and price, bar none! I too have Westley Richards ammo cartridge holders and the Africase cartridge holders, but I like Trader Keith's the very best. JMHO

As a caution, it's not a good idea to leave cartridges in a leather holder for any length of time. Salts in the leather (from the tanning process) can attack brass, especially in humid conditions. Best to remove them often and inspect closely. Be sure to dry off each cartridge if exposed to rain or high humidity. Holders made out of cordura/nylon will avoid that problem.

Don't forget Jeff's Outfitters in Cape Girardeau (573-651-3200). He sells them for $19.95. They hold 10 cartridges. He was the only source I could find for my .577. It was a bit stiff, but after a few coats of Neatsfoot oil, it's perfect.

Good luck.

Thanks for the leads.

What about cartridge spaceing?? Do you think it would be handier to have the cartridges spaced on an ammo belt an inch or so apart?? Versus having them in tight rows?
