Yo, last August my wife and I were on our way to our annual hunting trip to Namibia. We had just gotten home from a buffalo hunting trip to Northern Australia and I wasn't feeling all that good. Half way there, in Frankfurt, dehydrated and throwing up ... I made the decision to turn around (eat the airfares) and go back to Alberta and get better. Finally, after many tests, and much waiting ... I had major chest surgery on Monday in Calgary by a real high end surgeon who fixed me up ... how can you thank a man who has given you your 'life' back ??? Confused thumb Anyways, I'll be back in Namibia in late July ... it'll be the 30th anniversary of my first safari .. back when I was a younger - in '77. I hunted with John Coleman in the Transvaal .. he had recently left Rhodesia and on that ten day safari I shot my first leopard - and my life ain't been the same since .. It'll be good to be back under the Southern Cross .. sitting around the campfires again .. with good company - and maybe hearing, once again, the sound of a leopard sawing in the long grass ...

FOR THOSE THAT DO NOT KNOW-Scruffy and I had a bet last year when we were both going to Namibia about who would get the best Warthog.Since scruffy had to bail out he said that he had lost our bet and sent me a smoked salman.Know way I could accept victory on those terms so I paid off with a bottle of Louisiana Hot Sauce.

Scruffy-You are a stand-up guy and I wish you a great hunt and much success.I would be honoured to share a campfire with you any time and I sincerely wish I could be sitting there with you under that Southern Cross , reminissing about our day in the bush while waiting for some gemsbok fillets to sear.

We seldom get to choose
But I've seen them go both ways
And I would rather go out in a blaze of glory
Than to slowly rot away!

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. Hello Richard,

My best wishes for a speedy recovery. I have found another herd of water buffs in a country that for now no one knows that they exist. That should get your blood flowing.

Best regards,

Ed

Hi Scruffy,

Now that you are up and running, maybe we can get the chef to cook up those pigeons for us. You missed the moose at the big bore shoot.

Took a while for them to finally open you up though... is that called a "waiting list"?
