I'm too lazy to try the search function for this. Is there any problems with the airlines (British or Alaska) if two travelers with firearms split up their ammo so there is some of the three different calibers in the two different pelican cases.

I'll be taking a .375 H&H and 450 NE, Joyce (little miss) will have her 7 x 57 and a .22lr (no .22 ammo).

The airlines don't care what ammo is in what bag, just that each bag has less than 11 pounds. They couldn't care less if ammo matches rifles.

The people who care if ammo matches the rifles are the customs guys on the other end of the flight. They don't care which bags have what ammo or whether or not there is more or less than 11 pounds in each bag.

I've split up ammo into my wife's bag several times and she doesn't have a declared rifle. Done the same with my son's bags carrying ammo as they were under 21 when going on safari and therefore couldn't have a declared rifle. Just make sure to declare to the airline what bags have ammo in them. You'll have no problems.
