I just came back from a darted rhino hunt on which I took my sister-in-law for her first African safari. My sister-in-law had a wonderful first time experience in Africa. She had wonderful stalks and hunts for Blesbok, Black Wildebeest, Red Hartebeest, Black Springbok and Grey Duiker.

She is a very good shot, and her ph worked hard for her. Here are some of the trophy shots. The black springbok will run high in the SCI book, as will the Blesbok and Red Hartebeest. Hope you enjoy these photos. The whole report is over on hunt reports.

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

Very good black springbok! I shot one very similar to that in 2002, and when the taxidermist mounted the black and a common he switched the horns on it with the average common springbok that I'd shot. Everytime I look at the black and the common, I have to switch them in my mind.

458Lottfan,

She used a 7mm Rem Mag and 30-06 of mine. The 7mm was a 175 Hornady and the 30-06 was 180gr Nosler Partition. Rifles were custom Mausers weighing about 10 lbs with scopes and rings. Kudude
