A simple "exploratory" hunt to the Kafue and a quick trip to "see" the Luangwa turns into a new double and more than I can afford. Please post current mortgage rates and referral on good Family Law attorney. No scale in camp, please post best estimate.

GhubertOh crap!

Well done, can't wait to hear the story man!
Andrew must be the very devil if you went for a Lechwe and came home with serious ivory.

bobgrowMore, more,.....

What a beautiful set of teeth. I won't hazard a guess on weight, but the size is very impressive and the staining exceptional.
78 & 82 would be my guess.
does fairgame have a private phone # ?

MARK H. YOUNGBrad,
A wild guess would be 55#-60#. Whatever you do don't clean those tusks. They are gorgeous in a gnarly sort of way.
Good job! I'll be very interested in the story.

safari-lawyerI ain't never seen a lechwe like that!
Damn, Brad. Those are really, really nice. You are on a roll man . . . a roll.
Now, having dabbled a bit in family law, I'd say you need to leave the teeth in Zambia until the divorce is final.

And, seriously, let me be one of the first to congratulate you on completing your Big Four.

505 gibbsleft and right tusk are 19-7/8 at the lip, left tusk is 6'8", right is 6'3", nerve cavity is short and narrow.
15 May 2011, 20:36
MARK H. YOUNGBrad,
I said my quess was a wild one. All I can say is those tusks are very big. The diameter at the lip surprises me as I never saw anything like that in the Luangwa when I hunted there in the past.

505 gibbsHere is another view. Mark, I am limited in my knowledge of ivory, I have held a set of 70lb from just outside Krueger, a set of 60lb from Zim and a set of 50lb from Tanzania, and have never seen anything that even comes close to these in circumference and weight. You would have to put your hends on them to appreciate what I am saying.
My God those are gorgeous! I'm guessing 75 lbs and 90 lbs.

Would dearly like to see a pic or two or three of the dead elephant wearing that ivory for a better judgment.

sandyhunterWell done, Brad and Andrew. I'll go with 71 and 84.
Weidmannsheil Brad! It looks like Luangwa turned into an elephant hunt for you! One never knows what Africa holds in stock... Now, to figure out how to pay for it all...

Btw, all you other guys, wait until you see Brad's Lechwe!

May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Damn nice teeth!

Brad:
Nice teeth. My guess is 94 and 80. I am curious how long was the skull buried before they were loose enough to come out?
BTW.. I saw a pic of the Lechwe. Absolutely awesome.
