I should add that Rick Klimes shared a video of Sam and Rosemary's elephant hunts with me. Those hundred pounders were hitting the ground left and right. Good stuff from the good old days.

Thanks Rick, for the video, and thanks Kathi, for additional insight into this interesting couple.

It is with great sadness to post that in late November Rose passed away.

She was truly a pioneer for women in big game hunting. From tigers in India, dangerous game in Africa, and extensive North American hunting. She was a remarkable woman.

I always enjoyed all of the pics by Sam and Rose. I even read somewhere about their exploits a long time ago. Hunters true to their exploits.
Kathy thanks for sharing and Mike thanks for posting.

Kathi, so sorry to hear that Rose has died. She truly was remarkable, especially given the "norms" of "accepted" and "expected" female behavior during her times. Bravo to her and to Sam, both.

If anyone is interested, Sam's engraved Ludwig
Brovnik side by side in 458 Win Mag is going up for auction.

The rifle is photo #40 on the attached link.

I don't care for the "crammed" way they displayed their taxidermy, but what a life those two led. WOW.

I just got the latest issue of Sporting Classics; opened it up to find a story about this auction, including the tiger photo.

Like I said, what a life.

I saw that too, but the rifle in the pic does not look like a double as stated in the magazine.
