Me too! What kind of man doesn't carry at least one pocket knife?
Right now sitting at my desk I have a Leatherman PST II in my back pocket and a small Gerber lock blade in one front pocket and a 3 blade Buck stockman in the other front pocket.
I would feel undressed without them, all three of them!

BrettAKSCII'm working on a knife right now. It has a damascus blade and mammoth ivory handles. I think I'm going to do another after it with elephant ivory handles. I want to have it to skin my lion and cut elephant tails and other such fun.

Use Enough GunSadly, our traditions in carrying knives on a regular basis have been supplanted by metal detectors, federal and state laws regarding the carrying or possessing "dangerous" weapons at schools, in public buildings, etc., and with our sick society's overall paranoia with anything that can be classified as a weapon, or could be construed as being used in any way by a criminal or terrorist. Long gone are the good old days, I'm afraid to say. I used to carry a small Victorinox pocket knife(very small blade, tweezers, fingernail file, etc) on my key chain. However, when told at the courthouse one day that I would have to either permanently surrender the knife or take it back to my truck and leave it, I took it off of my keychain and took it all the way back to my vehicle. We live in a crazy society.

Wooly ESSThere were two things I contemplated taking on my trip to Africa last year, but left at home. One was a hunting knife, and the other was a roll of duct tape. I never missed the hunting knife, but I sure coulda used the duct tape!
I did take a Leatherman, and a tiny Victorinox pocket knife. I frequently have use of the Leatherman pliers, and the various other tools usually get used as pry bars. The most useful tool of all are the tweezers in the tiny Victorinox. They have pulled many a thorn out of my fingers over the years.

MARK H. YOUNGAs far as safari is concerned anything other than a pocket knife and/or a multi tool is not necessary.
BUTI can remember shooting a buffalo and an eland when there were not enough knifes to go around or in the case of the buffalo nobody had a knife. Sadie of course had her trusty Gerber and saved the day. So perhaps a folder big enough to do some real work with is a good idea.

L. David KeithI've been tempted to take this original Gil Hibben (when he was in Utah) but thought better of it. I'd rarely use it and it has never been sharpened after it left Gil's shop. This was the model (Tanto) he fashioned the first Rambo knife off of.

GarByBecause it looks really neat on my belt? That being said, I carry a fixed 4.25" blade from Benchmade, and one of the skinners asked to borrow it one day on my bushbuck....from then on, when i took an animal, he would look at me, then a quick glance at the Benchmade....I got the message. I offered it to him when I left...he said it looked good on Bwana's belt....but to come back and see him and he would again borrow it. So I've got that going for me.......
