Well said Cal. From helping injured PH's to identifying bad apples the AR community is both generous and invaluable.

Tough place but frauds don't last long here. And the more and more time and money I spend in the recreational hunting area - the more and more frauds I see operating.

Best unbiased place to check for info references and consumer research for safaris on the internet is AR.

AR can be very forgiving, too.

If I remember correctly, Bushwack would not give the refund when asked by a dying man. He was offered a future hunt which was not in the client's plans. We at AR, and a generous PH in South Africa, offerd to make a hunt for him happen if he beat the cancer and still wanted to go. We offered this to help an unfortunate gent. Bushwack was silent. No compassion. Nothing. No condolences upon the man's passing from the cancer.

I honestly believe if Bushwack came here offering his apologies and perhaps a check of the deposit to the man's widow or family, all would have been forgotten here.

But, no. Now Bushwack comes here cussing and swearing like an uneducated and greedy bastard. No doubt he has further damaged his reputation here and it will be impossible for him to book a hunt. He may wait a year or two, but when he posts someone here will recall his attitude, foul language, and his unfathomable separation of the letter of the law and the spirit of the law.

As the old saying is so manifested here: Pride Goeth Before a Fall.

In recalling AR's support of Carolinasman, I am proud to be among you. It is an honor.

And to Bushwack: I hope the man's deposit enriched you well and it was worth what you have lost here. Just curious--how much was it? 1-2-3000$?
Cheers, all.
Cal

PS. And Saeed, I appreciate even more you having an open forum after being unable to post comments on an Alaska forum of a flight service that charged me for a flight it did not take. We may disagree with the Mark Sullivan issue(s), you still have the best forum on the planet.

Well said Cal. From helping injured PH's to identifying bad apples the AR community is both generous and invaluable.

Cal Pappas - If I recall correctly it was $2,400 that Mr. Bushwack refused to return to a dying man.

Yes indeed, there are some crooked outfitters out there, but I was surprised to see that last sentence was not going to end in "lawyers". That is the version I have most often heard and that most can relate to from real life experience.

This post is a perfect example of what I like about AR: humor, honesty, exposing unethical behavior, pulling for those in need, etc.

Long before Wikipedia came along, there was a dictionary that explained words in terms all of us understand.

LAWYER= a derivative of an old English name given to those who practice LAW.

Because of their behavior like leeches that suck your blood - whether you are a winner or a looser in a case - the name LAWYER was given to them.

It means specifically means a person who would lie, and lie, and lie.

A drunken Irishman kept screaming LAWYER, LAWYER, LAWYER, and the name stuck.

Not sure which is harder, finding an honest lawyer or an honest banker rotflmo

Saeed,

I do take offense to that. I've practiced law for nearly 30 years. I don't lie; I don't cheat and I don't advertise on TV. What I say is the way it is, like it or not -- both to clients and the other side.

People don't like me because it's pretty much in your face, but no games. I guess that's why I'm not one of those rich plaintiff's lawyers.

Lawyers are good people! My brother (God rest his soul) was a lawyer. My nephew is a lawyer prosecuting Drunk Drivers.
I have several good friends, members of this forum, who are lawyers. All of these men are good honest men! Men who work hard every day to make life for us all , just a little bit better!

It's just like Bushwack. A few bad people give a profession a bad name.

I stopped taking offense when the jokes became funny. I was even going to write a Lawyer Joke book but was beaten to the punch. We had a president of MADD whose son received a DWI. He hired my partner screaming the "police are liars." Hate 'em till you need 'em.

Not a lot of jokes to tell about representing Mesothelioma victims but it is an honest venture
