Folks,

I paid a visit to Lifeform Taxidermy in White River this morning and if any of you are planning to pay them a visit, you'd best allow at least half a day to see the set up now.

They've expanded their premises to something like 4 or 5 times the size it used to be. (which was pretty big anyway) The new set up is simply stunning and really well worth a visit.

I reckon if they get any bigger they'll have to buy their staff golf carts to get around and the municipality will have to change the name of the road to Lifeform Lane or something similar. Smiler

If you do get to visit, you certainly won't be disappointed! thumb thumb thumb

That was the largest taxidermy shop I had seen and I thought it well organized at the time. I cannot imagine it 4 or 5 times the size - that is impressive.

They're working on an order for 2007 me right now. Just waiting for the Zim trophies from last October to finally get there. And, they'll be doing my leopard and other trophies from this year's Zimbabwe hunt as well.

Wow, they were big 5 years ago, I can't imagine that much bigger. Excellent work BTW and ditto on their customer service and work. First rate.

I've seen commercial aircraft hangers that have less floor space than Lifeform have now! Eeker

Lifeform is the best taxidermy firm that I've ever worked with -- both their work and their customer service are superlative.

I never even consider using anyone else for an African trophy.

I'll try to get down there again next week and if I do, I'll post pics..........

Kayaker,

You bet, I'm trying to spend less time in the bush this year because we're working on a couple of other projects......... There's a new (ish) micro brewery just down the road from home and they make what must be some of the best beers in SA!!! - Let me know when you're coming! Wink

Maybe we'll try to do a tour of Lifeform beforehand and then get Cecil and co to join us!

My Lion is on it's way from Life-form. From the pics they sent me I'm going to be very pleased. I met and dealt with Sharon over the entire process and she is above excellent at communication. I emailed Cecil about how good she was start to finish. It is unheard of anymore to receive their quality of care.

Interesting you should say that..... their customer service/contact etc has always been second to none and with this huge expansion of their operation, they've obviously had to take on a considerable number of new staff.... Incredibly, every single one of them seems as good as their existing standard. Everyone there is so nice and so effecient it astounds me every time I visit. Smiler How they find that number of good staff in a little town like White River and surrounding areas, I simply don't know.

So let's try to work out a date sometime. Wink

I get an idea that Ian and Jakkals might be able to come as well. Smiler

Got back there today. They must have had 10 or 12 fullmount Lions undergoing the final stages of taxidermy plus a few being crated..... plus of course all the other work. This one eas just about to be crated and I have no idea who it belongs to or where it was shot........ but what a fantastic piece of taxidermy huh! Smiler It must also be said it's a magnificent Lion.

Enjoy.

Very well done. Thanks for posting.

Life-Form's lion are the best. I may be prejudiced, since they did mine, but I don't think so.

Their leopard are also superb. Cats are tough, generally, but the folks at Life-Form have mastered the art.

Shakari and 375 fanatic + any one else in the area

I am doing a business trip up to bushbuckridge next week - maybe we could have a look around Lifeform and have a cold beer about midday? I can do it Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday next week.

Anyone game?
