Arrived home yesterday from Zim. Had a great trip. I thought I would post a few comments and add pic.s and a full report next week.

Hunted tuskless for seven days in Dande South with P.H. Ryan Millward. Shot the ele on day 5 after looking over 39 ele. No ele seen from truck, all tracked in thick jess near rivers.

Joined a friend for the last half of his leopard/buff safari in Cheowre North with P.H. Andy Hunter. Shot a great cat on day 10, 7'2" approximately 8 yr.s old.

No problems traveling in Zim. Chartered from Harare. Things are very quiet in Harare due to cerfew. Lots of rumors but little in the way of real unrest, as far as I could tell.

Tidbit: I was told that Steve Horniday was in Chewore North the week before I arrived testing the new 416 Ruger round on lion and buff (both of which he shot).

Welcome back Brett, I'll be in the low veldt next month. I suspect Ruger will intro their own .416 round before long. A long time friend of mine works for them and mentioned "maybe" at Dallas. I'd like to see several ammo manufacturers offering .375 & .416 Ruger cartridges. Would ease a lot of minds on finding ammo for either. Look forward to your report and pics. LDK

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

Tim Danklef (Chifuti) told me last week that Steve Hornady was over there with Dave Fulson, and that the lion they shot was very nice.

Thanks for the update... look forward to your hunt report!

Brett,

Congrats on a successful safari and for an update on how things are in Zim. Ryan was my PH last year in Chirisa and I thoroughly enjoyed hunting with him.

Brett,

Congrats on a successful hunt. I heard from Mokore Safaris this AM. As you said all is quiet and no problems for hunters at all.
