180 Grain Accubond dug out of my Oryx from 300 RUM
From 375H&H, mushroomed TSX was through both front shoulders, recovered under skin on far side. Non-mushroomed was through the rear hind quarter, through front quarter and located under skin.
Recovered from Giraffe. 416 Rigby.

PulicordsMy first time to Africa and hunting Cape buffalo, I used 350 grain Barnes TSX bullets loaded to about 2300 fps in my .375 H&H. The round on the right hit him from about 70 yards (quartering to), penetrated both shoulders and came to rest beneath the hide on the off side. The finishing round (on the left) was fired from about 10 yards, struck him just above the previous hit, penetrated the spine and came to rest less than one inch from the first bullet. I was very pleased with the performance with these rounds and have used factory 300 grain TSX bullets on brown bear in Alaska with similar results.

Flipper Dude300 TSX for me. Only one buffalo kill , but it passed straight through the vitals and out the other side on a broadside. Also took a zebra through and through at 270 yds. I'm sure any premium bullet can do the job, but I have had good results in my 30-06 with the TSX, didn't see any reason to change

WoodsyAlTo all:
I come here to learn. I have never killed a buffalo, but am thinking I may try this soon as a "bucket list" item. I'm a pretty experienced hunter with considerable international exposure.
From what I've read, some buffalo hunting deals with herds, and in that situation, the PH's don't want bullets to completely penetrate the target animal and possibly wound another. This makes me wonder about the Barnes bullets. It seems the A-Frames are more commonly found under the skin on the far side. I am leaning toward these bullets for the first shot. Comments? And if I do that, what should I use for follow-ups?
I will be away from the internet for several days, but look forward to any responses when I am back online.
Thanks!
Spend your life wisely.

Tim CarneyTK,
I endorse the 300 grain Swift A-frame and have successfully used it, as I have the 300 grain Woodleigh solid.
Having said that, in the future I'll be using the Cutting Edge Bullet BBW#13 275 grain soft point and the 300 grain solid to regulate a new .375 H&H flanged magnum double.
You clearly reload and I'd suggest you look at the thread here on AR entitled, "The Double Rifle Bulle of the Future" and make your own conclusion.

LeonKomkovAnother vote for the 300 grain Swift A Frame. On my last buff, the a frame shattered the near side shoulder joint, traveled through the boilerworks, broke a rib and lodged visibly under the skin on the far side. After all that activity it mushroomed perfectly and weighed 298.4 grains.
But let's be honest, most of this discussion is along the lines of "so you like chicken or fish better." We all have our favorite bonded bullet and it's generally whatever worked well for us. The TSX's are spectacular, as are the North Forks. We're very lucky to live in a golden age of bonded bullets. The one bullet I have had multiple bad personal experiences with is the Hornaday DGX. I would avoid those like the plague.

Like this one? I pulled it out of buffalo #21, fired from a .450 NE.It made it halfway through a buffs neck.
