No offence, but I'm not even remotely interested in taking on investors, partners, subleases, clubs, etc. I have more than enough headaches already. I was only offering a little insight on how to get it done if anyone was truly capable and motivated to do so.

But over the years I hear a lot of people talking about it, but no one actually doing it. It's a fun random thought.

Guys there are different ways to look at this. It works and can work but there are a few simple rules.

I learned the hard way the first time I tried this back in 2010. Since then, and with the help of some really sharp minds I have managed to put together something like this on a small scale.

Basically, you have two distinguish between two business models here.

The one is an investment. The other is buying into a hunting quota. You pay for what you get guaranteed and your dates and time that you can hunt is fixed.

The first is not very advisable UNLESS the guy running it in Africa has some serious skin in the game (at least 50%) Also make sure you HELP the enterprise by marketing it. A 100% "silent"
investment will result in disaster.

The second one is advisable and WORKS like a bomb. You get to hunt cheap, you are helping your favorite hunting place with a secured income (ensuring sustainability) and if you decide to do a NA hunt one year and skip Africa, then you have the right to sell your quota (which will be at a profit) helping you to pay for your NA!

Every Safari business, therefore, by default, would classify as an investment. Someone put money in it to start it.

Although there are few honest people that got RICH out of it, it must be said that RICH is a very relative concept.
