Went before my bull elephant hunt in 2015 on the recommendation of my friend and custom rifle maker Lex Webernick (Rifles, Inc). Not cheap but absolutely the best money I spent on that hunt after the rifle Lex built for me. Feel free to PM me with any specific questions.

I went a few years ago and did a course that was a hybrid of the precision and safari courses. You will not regret it.

I've been to Tim's place a couple of times...really great facilities, good people, good food, and lots of fun!

If you go, you won't regret it one bit!!

Gunsite has good prices for their school compared to everyone else.

The NRA also has a school here in NE New Mexico between Santa Fe and the Colorado border.

None of them are the safari prep that SAAM is.

None of my past clients (not few either) ever went to shooting school though I dare say a very small percentage needed to learn how to shoot straight and shed themselves of "buck fever".

Whoever came up with the idea of setting up a "Safari Shooting School" .... for beginners.... sure hit the jackpot. Big Grin

I wonder what the charges and duration are and if the school issues a certificate of competence of sorts that qualifies the "student" to venture forth in the quest of Dangerous Game, etc.? coffee

I think if there is one important factor hunters should be aware of on safari is to shoot quickly, and accurately!

Anything else is immaterial.

And leave the binoculars in the truck!

The number of people I have seen hunting swapping looking through binoculars are rifle scope is mind boggling!

I never carry binoculars on me, they stay in the truck.
