Mad Dog, I can steal more, for sure. I still have to post a selection from the borderline walk though, and will do that first. I will also steal some from my dad in due course - he has some wonderful pictures, quite a collection. I'm glad you guys like them.

Wild dogs, Rhino and a recovering Kudu population........the Save' is a special place. The intrusion of war vets is an issue in some areas, as is Mugabe's henchmen attempting to "partner" with land owners. I had a great experience 20 miles N of Humani in Brooklands Msaise Concession. Hunt it while you can. Great pics. Thanks. Jim

I thought poachers who came across rhino that had their horns trimmed would go ahead and shoot them anyway. This to eliminate the chance of tracking them again in the future; therefore, wasting their time of chasing a rhino without a horn.

graybird,

Yes, of course, that happens. And not just so they won't have to track it again, sometimes out of sheer malice - to show authorities that de-horning won't help their cause. But, bear in mind that the sound of a shot carries - the poachers know this too. Dehorning has not stopped the poaching, but I'm sure it has helped in particular areas. Anyway, we try everything we can.

Some really great shots...I particularly like the one of the impala all staring at the camera with their ears reflecting the light. Great photo.

I thought this too, but to approach this logically, if a poacher decided to not shoot a rhino, one without a horn has just a slightly higher chance of not being shot than one with.
