I have hunted Africa only twice. As an aspiring Elephant hunter (yes that is my dream hunt) I have a dumb question.... If I go to say Zim for an Elephant hunt and I have all my CITES BS in order. WHY can't I take the tusks home on the plane as checked baggage??????????????? It seems it would be easier than going through all the red tape people hear about. I am sure there is a good reason, I just dont know what it is. THANKS NRA Life DRSS Searcy 470 NE The poster formerly known as Uglystick

Honkey, no stupid questions on this forum (if you exclude SCI) but plenty of stupid answers . None on this question though.

It does raise the question of why not bring them back on your next hunt. Have the outfit store them until you return the next year.

Now THAT would be a DAMM GOOD IDEA !! Unless you shoot a real monster the shipping on the airline wouldn't even cost that much!! NRA Life DRSS Searcy 470 NE The poster formerly known as Uglystick
