Kokdyer,
I have hunted at Humani with Roger's team twice. Humani is a great place to hunt, diverse scenery from riverine bush to open veldt, fantastic plains game including exceptional Kudu. Also hunted Buffalo there as well. There have been some very large Leopard taken on Humani and I understand Lion in recent years as well. I recommend Roger and team very highly, you will be well looked after.

Here is a 60 inch kudu from Roger Whittall's Humani:

It is quite easy to find a 55-57" kudu, and 60" if you look hard. 28" waterbuck are easy and 30" is possible if you look hard. The eland are very big bodied and there are ample mature bulls. The bushbuck run 14-19", and there are plenty. Lots of zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, impala, warthog, bushpig and baboons. There is a reasonable number of buffalo there and they are big bodies because the feed is so good. Bosses are good and width is probably 38" typical. Lots and lots of elephant, but the conservancy shoots few of them. If you want to have lots of fun, take one rifle for your regular hunting and a .223. Pick up 500 rounds of ammo in Harare and concentrate on baboons. The place is full of them and no trophy fee unless you want to export one.

Have you seen this current thread? https://forums.accuratereloading.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/1411043/m/872107856

James Walker,

According to the thread above, the first "official" hunting day of 2007 was April 15th. Did you somehow hunt it "un-officially"?

Check the threads by David Hulme. He lives in Zim and has been hunting with Roger just recently. He is an extraordinary writer (by trade) and his hunting reports and photos are a glimpse of Humani. LDK

I have hunted with Roger twice. The first time we spent half our time in Chewore and half in Humani. This was several years ago at the height of the land grab. We had a wonderful time and were succesfull for all we wanted. Last year I had a sucessful lion, buffalo, elephant hunt in Chewore. I have only one recommendation. If you are going to hunt Buffalo with them, Do it in Chewore !!! The costs may be a little higher as you would have to move to HUmani for all your plains game, but You wont regret it.

I too have hunted with Roger twice, and have recommeded his safari company to many friends.

Both hunts we hunted both Humani and Chewore. Both areas are great - but very different. I enjoyed both equally.

I sure hope things are the Save Conservancy are going well. I have not been there in a few years and the 3rd party accpounts I have heard have varied. I think Roger would be honest about the current situation if asked.

Bottom line: I will hunt with Roger again.

My name is Mike Taylor. I have hunted with Roger and his team on many different occasions. I also worked for Roger back in 2005. Mostly filming hunts but also looking after his camp in Chewore. I would reccomend Roger Whittall Safaris to anyone.

I now book hunts for Roger here in the UK. If you need any more information just email me. mike@miketaylorsporting.co.uk

I agree with you, Roger's Ph's are great guys Pete Wood, Richard Tabor, Thierry Labat and Guy Whittall. They are all great friends. I want to get them to come over to the UK to do some bird shooting with me. Thierry has been once before but not the others.

I hope to get back to Zim in the near future. I miss being there.
