I'm considering a medium caliber to go along with my .375 H&H for a potential African hunt. I like the .30-06, but I'm concerned about ammo availability. Having only hunted in my native USA, I've been surprised to see posts claiming that our most popular cartridge is not always available elsewhere. Am I displaying my "Ugly American" naivete'? Is .30-06 readily available in Africa (likely RSA)?

Any ammo that was used to outfit armies and fight world wars with will be available in any part of the war....if you can find Coke Cola you can find '06!
