.30-06 Springfield availability

I'm considering a medium caliber to go along with my .375 H&H for a potential African hunt. I like the .30-06, but I'm concerned about ammo availability. Having only hunted in my native USA, I've been surprised to see posts claiming that our most popular cartridge is not always available elsewhere. Am I displaying my "Ugly American" naivete'? Is .30-06 readily available in Africa (likely RSA)?

Just like any place in the world, the 06, 308 and 270 ammo is on the shelf...

Did you ever try to find '06 ammo in China?
