Nice thick tusks. For those who don't know, Pete is on the left and Ron Oliver is on the right. Ron posts here.

Tusks both broken off or worn heavily at the tips. Was this an ambi-tusk-strous elephant?

Satisfactory asymmetry should qualify for the "Outer Circle Award" quite nicely.

Should rank quite high in Pope and Young too. Winkthumb

Congrats. As a youngster, when I was an obsessive archer and bowhunter, Pete Shepley was one of the folks in the industry I admired. In fact, when I was in 11th grade and working at the local archery store, I shot an arrow out of a PSE Mach 5 bow - the first heavily marketed commercial overdraw bow (radical overdraw), which broke and went right though my left hand. I still have a couple of nice scars to prove it.

That photo looks like it was taken at the pool at Senuko. Anyone know where the elephant was taken?

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."
