What a pig! The two guys behind it do not look like they are very far behind it to me. Love those bags under the eyes, a neat feature on the GFHs. I wonder if they truly get to weigh 450kg/1000 lbs?

Usually by glassing from a likely promontory mornings and evenngs then trying to get in position for a shot. While most are taken incidentally to hunting other species ( a target of opportunity) this one was the only species hunted. The man only had a license for Giant Forest Hog.

"Love those bags under the eyes, "

I didn't notice thsoe guys having bags under their eyes Confused
Oh, you mean the hog. Big Grin
Those are actually a very pronounced zygomatic arch (bone). That's rough hide stretched over bone. Notice the concave top of the skull. You could hide a baseball in there. Thanks for your interest.

Big pig - no question. But, it's also clear the camera angle and having the two men well behind it magnifies the size.

This fudge factor seems to be the norm, these days.

Fudge factor my ass..

That is a very well posed picture of a very nice trophy.

Congratulations to the hunter and the PH.

Maybe we should request that the hunter lay in front of the animal from now on so that all the titty babies on AR don't have anything to whine about.

It has just about become impossible to post anything on AR without somebody taking issue with something. This is the largest collection of Monday morning morning quarter backing, computer jockey, internet heroes, on the planet.

That thing looks as big as a buffalo!

My reference (Collins Field Guide) indicates that giant forest hogs can weigh up to 500 lbs.

This one looks every ounce of that, if not more.

Rich, you come up with the coolest trophy photos on this site.

Some Kalua Pig, bring it on. No doubt there's a lot of blue sky involved in sizing the pig and weighing it. Still, it's a big'n.
