. Was looking at some East African hunting / outfitters web sites and came across one that stated Bow hunting double the quoted trophy prices. Seemed pretty strange to me. Is this mandatory in Tanzania or what could the reason be ? Thought this a better forum for the question first before emailing the ph direct .... Cheers . "Up the ladders and down the snakes!"

Bow hunting is considered to be "unconventional" by the Local Authorities but for those hunters who wish to hunt by these means, the trophy fees for the privilege is doubled.

That seems overboard But then African governments are what they are - Crooks " Until the day breaks and the nights shadows flee away " Big ivory for my pillow and 2.5% of Neanderthal DNA flowing thru my veins. The double fee might just be a message that the TZ hunting authorities are not really interested in bow hunters but if one is dumb enough to pay the price, its worth a chuckle.
