I posted this on the Taxidermy forum and it did not get much traffic. Hope to get some comments here.....apologies for the off topic post, but I could use some suggestions.....Carl Taxidermy Forum Post I am seeking information on long term storage of Taxidermy. I will be out of the country for at least 2 years and will not be able to tend to them. One of my thoughts is to build wood crates to place them in, and then store them in a climate controlled facility. Any thought on how to do this, products to help with this or a company that could help, would be greatly appreciated. Kind regards Carl Exercise makes you look good naked, so does bourbon.....You decide

Carl: I had a house in MN that I sold back in 2003. My taxidermy collection from that house has been in storage since. I wrapped everthing in bubble wrap. The storage is not climate controlled. A lot of people thought I was nuts, but truthfully, heating up -20 deg air to 60 degrees does nothing but drive down the humidity, and unless you control that, what is the point? Anyway, I get back to MN often and I check on the stuff once per year. It seems to be no worse for the wear even after 3 years. It took longer than I thought to build the house of my dreams (in AZ it is impossible to find a house with a trophy room, so I am building one 900 sq ft), so i have one more year. I wouldn't worry about it.
