Zimbabwe's President Robert Mugabe has called on the country's remaining white farmers to cede land to black people.

"We say no to whites owning our land and they should go," Mr Mugabe told his supporters at a rally.

The white farmers union said it was regrettable that racial tensions were flaring up again.

The president's critics say his policy of seizing most of Zimbabwe's white-owned farms caused the country's economic collapse from 2000-2009.

It is coming here too judging by rhetoric being spouted.
Of course when the buggers are starving, they will go begging to the UN and Nordic countries who will all cry "Oh shame, we must help the poor starving wretches." Screw them and remind them of their stupidity.

Further to the comment by Scriptus:

These are pictures of sugar/citrus/banana farm right next to Ngwenya Lodge in Komatipoort , South Africa .

It was sold to (taken by) the SA Government in 2007, in their land reform and re-allocation program whereby the riches are

distributed among the less advantaged, oppressed "indigenous" community i.e. black empowerment.

This is what it looked like when the previous white owners thought they were going to look at the development of their old homestead and farm.

They matched each scene (Aug 2011) with a 'before' photo (Jan 2007) and the last photograph was taken from a helicopter where the remains (shell) of

the house is visible.

I should add that I know these sugar farms very well indeed...... until the hand over, they were beautifully kept and a licence to print money.

Just before I left Africa and soon after the last hand overs, I took a last drive along that road and the fences were all torn down, the working irrigation systems & pumps had all been torn out and sold for scrap, the houses demolished and sold brick by brick and what was once immensely fertile land had been turned to desert that could barely support a family where before, each farm had provided employment and income for hundreds.

I just got an e-mail from a PH friend. His family is in difficult straights financially. His brother has passed away and although the family still lives on the farm they cannot hunt. They have been given quota but cannot get permits. Their sugar cane and stone quarry businesses have been taken. The first time I visited this ranch I was amazed the love they showed to their workers. A couple black orphaned children were being raised as their own. They had built local schools and medical facilities. Over 1000 people worked for them but now all gone! Tragic!

Reaching the conclusion there might not be much of anything left in Zim after Uncle Bob and his gang are done.

Just sad and pathetic what they done to the country.

Does anyone see the similarity of the "take from the rich and give to the poor" concept between Zim and what our own (U.S) government is trying to do.

I also have seen, the riches to rags story line in SA & Zim.

I was taken and shown where a 4 or 5 star lodge was located the before pictures and i was able to walk through the destruction. What was not torn-out and sold was burned to the ground. We looked at 3 different farm locations and was provided a eye opening view of what was and what it is today.

I have some friends in Zimbabwe and they are on the front lines is the latest land grab. They had 51% taken a few years back and now they want the rest of the ranch.

I guess i will get the real story when i go visit later this year.

I for one don't think it is racist to state the truth and the facts back it up. A drive from Harare to the Save backs up the destruction in a country's economic and social fabric.

I also don't take Uncle Bob to be a mad man - he may not no anything about economics or basic public policy. I don't think he has done anything for his people - he has been a blood sucking scumbag. But he has been an amazing politician and power gatherer - I don't for a second think he has a base anywhere near the amount of power and policies he has been able to implement in the last 30 years.

The man is evil but not mad or stupid.

Just my worthless 2 cents.

It is very simple they can not run A country period! There is not A single African country that not right away started on A down wards spiral the moment they took it over. And that my dear hunting friends is not being racist it is simply pointing out the obvious...

And just think about it when Bob dies, power struggle and shit will hit the fan.
I agree with the fact that African countries after so called independence can't run anything.
They just went back to their tribalism warfare and of course it's all whiteys fault in their eyes.
I heard that from their mouths.
It's kinda crazy.
Then again, look how long it took US from Revolutionary war to civil war to somewhat organized country? 100 + years ?

A similar period to that of Liberia having been established. In that period, the US has built highways, railways, established a system of democracy, built a social system, massive industries & a space program etc.

Whilst Liberia has......... ummmmmmm maybe more or less mastered the wheel!

Definitely true but what can we the western powers do about that?
That is the million dollar question
I feel bad about white guys in a Africa
It's their home, they were born and raised there, what is there they can do?
And nobody else will do anything about it
Africa is slipping back to hell and it's slow only because we all give them free money otherwise they would have been in hell already

Oh come now, you know the the answer, it has never changed, it is those colonial white bastards who stuffed up the third world. Those idiots who brought stupid ideas like building with concrete and steel and hospitals and that really stupid institution, parliament. And of course, luxury German autos. How could you even ask? In Kenya some years ago, I spoke with a local who said it was all the fault of the British.... "You left 50 years too soon!!"
On asking why??!! He said that "All the Tribal Leaders and Political's had been educated, but not the Common people"
He indicated that due to the lack of education filtering down through the masses, those left in power by the exit of the British kept those under them ignorant and subservient to their will.....

A very good and personal friend of mine, Lloyd Johnson grew up on a farm in Zimbabwe. He recently wrote a book on his experiences as a youth and young adult in that once great country and the final take over of his family farm by none other than Mugabe and this thugs. The book is called "Spindrift". For those interested it can be purchased on Amazon. The following link will take you there.

Steve thanks for posting those pictures of Ngwenya. Very sad. I know the property very well from when before it was developed. My best friend as a kid lived there and over weekends there the lions, elephants and buffalo would wonder through. My father nearly died from malaria and tick bite putting in the water pumps from the Crocodile river. I passed through Komatipoort two weeks ago and although it was a hell hole of heat and malaria now it's also one giant trash dump. The only amusing thing was that an old military transport plane has been painted in KFC colors with the old colonel as an advert. I m afraid I saw this change all over the small farming towns of South Africa having driven some 3600 km. And now security companies must be 51percent locally owned, just the beginng of more business take over (see the new visa business rules) land reform has been extended to 2018, and Malema is becoming more popular. The only hope is for an educated middle class to stand up to this idiotic self destruction and corruption.
