All I can say is fantastic writing. Dust, Blood, and Desperation in the April/May 2008 Issue of African Outfitter.

"The Judge" first introduced this to us here on AR a while back and although I remember reading it I thoroughly enjoyed reading it again.

Well written Judge and thanks to you Hutty for bringing it back to our attention.

We seldom get to choose
But I've seen them go both ways
And I would rather go out in a blaze of glory
Than to slowly rot away!

Wow!!--- I had not previously seen that--That is an excellent bit of writing -- and the interesting part is that I had the exact same scenario happen to me while in Tanzania -- the pucker factor is truly significant – and most memorable to say the least--- but “that†is why we do what we do.

OMG!-- my bow is "pull-push feed" - how dreadfully embarrasing!!!!!

Outstanding story. I sat next to Judge G. at the Saturday night dinner during the Dallas Safari Club show in January and was totally impressed with him as a gentleman.

Same here prof242. Judge told us the Buffalo and the Lion's story and I have to say it was one of the best hunting adventures anyone has ever told me. It was good enough to put it on video. You cannot read that kind of energy in text. It has to be told by someone there. JudgeG is an excellent story teller and Sporting Gent. Hat's off to ya Judge!

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

After reading the story, one would conclude that the Judge has very large "brass" eggs in his shorts so to speak. After you meet him you will know it for a fact. Great "true" story. drwes
