Where to hunt plainsgame in Zimbabwe?

Once again I am soliciting advice from the AR forum.

In 2011 my dad and I went to Zimbabwe to Sijirira on a buffalo hunt through Adam Clements Safari Trackers. We had an outstanding time and immediately planned to go back to Zim to hunt plainsgame. We enjoyed our time very much and were very impressed by our PH, Tim Lamprecht (Jimba Safaris).

For 2012 we wanted to give Jimba first shot at our business. They are hunting again in Sij and also in the Ngamo Sukumi area. Sij is a DG area, the brush is thick and not really a place to go for PG. From what I have learned through AR and other people I have contacted, it is pretty much the same case in Ngamo Sukumi.

I already have some ideas, but I would like to ask the forum: where is a good place to go for plainsgame in Zimbabwe? Our target animals are: Zebra, Kudu, Eland, bushbuck, impala, warthog, wildebeast.

Bubye/Lemco?
Save?
Sentinel Limpopo?

Consider hunting with Shangaan Hunters on the Save.

save conservancy with zambezi hunters- www.zambezihunters.com
or
bubye conservancy (lemco) with mazunga safaris - www.mazungasafaris.com
both have excellent quality and quantity and both areas have lots of big game that you will see while hunting which is always fun ,

We are next to Lemco/Bubye with two rivers running through the property; the Bubye and Bubiana. Lots of the game you mention and much more including outstanding Leopard. This is private property. If you would like photos or references, just drop me a line. We also have excellent upland birds, waterfowl and bass fishing. LDK

The Save Valley Conservancy is head and shoulders above the rest of the country in terms of plains game. It is in my opinion the best all round destination in Zim.....

there are a number of good operators in the Conservancy as shown above. obviously everyone has their personal favourites but I would recomend

Savuli Safaris with Terry Anders
Shangaan Hunters with Glenn Stockil
Save Safaris with Leon Du Plessis or Mike Payne

All of the above are top notch operators with a lot of experience and great guys to boot

Lemco or Save Conservancies... or contact Martin Pieters about the Cawston property between Bulawayo and Vic Falls.

Save Brooklands and Dale "Donza" DesFountain
served me well.....and if you want another buff(and who doesn't ?) or a lion (1 per year) or to see black rhino and be surrounded by wild dogs after the buff kill......then that operation might be worth a query. Jim

Guys,

Just as a matter of interest, has the political situation in Zimbawbe under the Mugabe regime caused any issues for PH's and clients?

I have hunted two different times with Donza and Brooklands in the SAVE, both were excellent hunts. He and I hunted other different areas in Zim as well for other game, like Bull Elephant, lion and cape buff. He is an excellent PH, and Brooklands is an excellent Company.

I have been to Zimbabwe three times, and never had ANY problems. None with any "Officials", the Police, the Military, etc. I have found the people in the cities, and the "natives" in the bush to be most friendly.

Mugabe has not been good for the Country, he is a Disaster, but I have never had any issues there.

I have driven all over Zimbabwe several times, it is a beautiful country.

I have spent a a couple of weeks living in Harare, no Drama, no problems.

The only thing I worry about when going to Africa, or anywhere else on a plane is the airlines loosing my "stuff".
