In Tanz last year I met a PH who books his own hunts in Kigosi and other places. He has a few openings for 2007 for 14 day full bag hunts less the cats and elephant. Cost is 25K. He also has same hunt with a lion on the ticket for 36K. PM me and I will give you contact details. He will be the PH and has plenty of experience in this area.

Mark and Wendell: don't worry, I am not booking hunts...

John,

Your not getting away that easy. The deal here is reveal all or don't post an ad. My first question would be what do the prices you quoted cover? Tanzania has many extras that can turn a hunt sounding like a bargain into a pretty spendie affair.

Well, standard things are included. You pay for the charter flight. The trophy fees are higher than when I booked this hunt, but you get to hunt with this PH, and he does know the area.

For 25k, you get a lot of shooting. I did this hunt last year with Wendell, who still books it as far as I know. Call him if you want.

AnotherAZWrite,

Please post all the actual prices, and any conditions that apply.

Saying "standard things are included" is a bit hazy, as some outfitters include things others might not.

We are asking this to svoid any confusion by prospective hunters.

It is really not much to ask for as this service is offered free of charge, just like everything here on AR.

1x1: 25K
Observer: 3500
Gun permit: 150
Dipping and packing: 1500

Trophy fees 920 first buff
1100 second, 1280 third; sable 1800; sitatunga 2000. That should give you some idea.

For lion:
36K
trophy fee: 3200
You can also add on an ele or leopard for 9500 each (I assume quota is available, but don't know).

Not included:
Air Dar to Mwanas: 300
Charter to camp
Gratuities
Accomodations before and after

Now what about the "not included" isn't typical of any hunt? Give me a break guys...

Forrest:

There are some roan. Not many, but even where there are lots there probably aren't many. TF is 2K if I recall.
