Excessive consumption of Castle Lager

Blurred vision from staring up at the southern cross too long

Smoking soles of my Courtneys from too close to the fire..

Yep.. Serious issues :-)

Outside of all the glamour and excitement of the hunt, what are some of the less exciting or hazards to be expected. My thoughts wander from snakes and other biting creatures (wasps, scorpions, etc), to personal hygiene. Not trying to be phobic, but thinking about reality.

My list is short:
Dealing with "Africa" People thats been around know what I talk about
Tsetse Flies
Sleeping on the ground (if you are not used to it your body only adapts after about three nights) We do not do this a lot anymore, but it does a hurt for a couple of days.... Wink

These things are not Hazards though, more inconveniences.......

Yeah! There are some biting bugs encountered on some safaris but there are products that help with that. Other than that I just don't see any real challenges to going on safari once you've arrived camp. What I find about safari that makes it so wonderful is that you can completely leave everything in the hands of others and just concentrate on the hunt. You need to dress yourself, take a shower and brush your own teeth, maintain your firearm and go hunt. That's it. I'm never more relaxed than on safari.

I've only been on one safari, so I'm not an expert. And I've only been on one Asian sheep hunt, so I'm not an expert.

If you're worried about comfort in Africa, don't go to Asia.
