Last Elephant Hunt
Looking for recommendations. I have one on ticket this year, but it's not likely we'll find a mature bull. I figure I've got one more elephant in me and would like a bigger bull than I have. So where and with whom would you recommend? .

Corey Knowlton Hunts put fantastic looking elephants on his Instagram account.

Might be an idea to contact him.

Botswana, NG41-NG42 or I think it was NG31 in the Delta. There are tons of big bulls on the border, going in and out of Chobe park.

+1 for Botswana for the biggest tuskers. If you have deep pockets, that is the place.

Thanks for all the responses. Confirmed a lot of what I thought, although I have been thinking about the border lands between Tanzania and Kenya, although I know that is unpopular.

West TZ has been producing some decent elephants.

+1 - if you've got the budget the best bulls are coming from a few areas in TZ right now.

Fulvio, now that's great news and where I'm headed in six months with an elephant on ticket. I'll send you a PM to learn more.

Have you heard what to expect elephant wise in Ugalla?

I’m guessing decent numbers but few, if any old bulls.

I took my one bull with Tholo in 2023. Riaan was my PH. It was an amazing experience. Greg Brownlee set it up.

I recommend all 3!

Safari2,

No. Elephant is not my focus on this trip, just wanted it on license.

If budget was not an issue my top choice would be Tanzania, specially maswa with the areas around ruaha following, then the premier Botswana blocks, then bushmanland in Namibia, then the blocks on western Zimbabwe that border Botswana or the hwange park

I have to agree, if budget isn't an issue Tanzania is the more adventurous destination.

And if you have some days left after getting the Elephant, you've got a stack of buffalo and a bunch of other stuff still on license!

In Botswana, I'll add another vouch for Riaan at Tholo. Just an excellent PH to hunt with.

Lavaca, firstly I am not an Elephant hunter, but last season I took a decent bull out of the Chisomo area of the Luangwa and saw bigger. The picture is the operator with the tusks. I hear the large tuskers are coming out of the Lupande areas and worth enquiring about.
