Given all the interest - and segues into Blue Bell ice cream and the lion I will not name because lions shouldn't have names dammit - about my and Craig Boddington's new podcast...

https://itunes.apple.com/us/po...podcast/id1026126732

I thought I'd return to ask for questions to be answered on the podcast.

Questions can be for Craig (or if you're really hard up, me) and can be about anything hunting and hunting lifestyle related.

We'd prefer the questions be actual questions rather than challenges, arguments, or insults, but then again..if that's all you got and you make it interesting...Who knows?

Questions will be addressed on next week's episode and I'll post a link when it's up.

Who's first?

Come on...don't be shy.

Craig, which would you rather fight:
  • 1 cape buffalo standing at 12ft tall
  • 1,000 black rhinos standing at 6in tall

No firearms, groin shots, or fish hooking allowed.

I will ask the politically incorrect question

Does Craig Boddington pay list/full price for the hunts or are they paid/subsidized by outfitters looking for free native advertising.

Is he going to be doing a fourth "ten years in africa" book?

How has the decline of outdoor magazines effected him? (Think we know the answer to that!)

There are a few on this forum that seem preoccupied with this question. Who gives a rats ass? Really? Just understand that for industry celebrities, a hunt is a business transaction instead of the holiday it is for the rest of us. What the two parties work out to their mutual satisfaction is their own business. Know that there is a business relationship of some nature and that you aren't going to see a negative hunt report released to the masses as a result. Take whatever report is produced with the huge grain of salt it deserves.

Wink

If someone books a hunt (or buys a particular make / model of gun) based solely on an industry celebrity's recommendation ... well, I hope it works out. A better idea would be to take the outfit's name as presented in the report / show, etc. and use that as a jumping off point to start your own research. That's how advertising SHOULD work.

old

Now for the real question of importance;

Are there any used T-Shirts remaining?

Smiler

Agreed.. I enjoy reading his work and whether he gets a discount or not is simply none of my business or anyone else's. However if products are giving to a writer for field trials it's hard to get a accurate take on what they really think. They are paid to tell us how good they are for the most part.

What a bunch of bsflag

Of course Craig gets some hunts comped to him, he would be an idiot to not accept those invitations..I'm a booking agent and I have been comped many hunts over the years..I suspect that every whiner out there on this subject would jump at the chance of comped hunt. BTW its damn good advertisement for the outfitter if he picks the right guy and not some ninny just out to get a freeby..It certainly helps me sell an outfitters hunts when I tell him Ive hunted with the man and he is top rate..Its all part of the business and its a plus for everyone involved. Most of this stuff is simply jealousy and by those wannabes that don't want to "earn" the priviledge. I'm bett'en they vote for Hillary.. old patriot

I would love to hear the true answer on that one!

He has hunted Africa more than 100 times, Europe, Asia (One Markor is over $50,000!) and everywhere else on a writers salary???

I read it somewhere a while back where CB said that he paid "full price" for all of his hunts.....I seriously doubt this is true unless he has a rich daddy that he doesn't talk about or an anonymous sponsor.

It might also have something to with his bankruptcy's??
