A friend sent me these ... Crocs may be very alert creatures, but they sure are not clever!

You almost feel sorry for the croc!

They're as dumb as a sack of spanners. Last year, I hooked one of about 2.5 metres on a rod and line. I had it on the hook for about 2 hours and eventually got it onto the bank where after a short dance, it spat the hooks out and went back to the water PDQ. It took me about 30 seconds to rebait the hooks and chuck the bait back in and damned if the same flatdog didn't come straight back and take it again!!!!!!! Wink

No, I don't feel sorry for the croc...he got his. Interesting photos. I especially like how the hippos have their eyes closed and then wide open for the rest of the frames.

Are there any more photos?

How common is that for a croc to go over hippos? I've never seen a photo of that before.

I like that expression.

I can't feel sorry for the croc, though, despite the fact that they seem to defy Darwinism.

Brilliant photos. For some one who can estimate such things, how big was the brain dead croc? My guess is 10 ft., but that is only a guess.
