I’m very pleased to report that luckily, both Thor and Brett have escaped serious injury.

Scans reveal Thor has a fractured vertebra and bruising of his lower back. Many weeks of rest and perhaps physio should see him well mended for the 2018 season. He was released from hospital earlier today and is home in his Lusaka abode under the care of his lovely girlfriend.
He’s lucky to have escaped serious injury.

Brett was transferred to the specialist orthopaedic hospital yesterday and was under the knife and toolkit of the wonderful Prof of orthopaedic surgery that afternoon. He’s resting well and with luck we will have him out tomorrow and helping finish off the last of the gin (perhaps!)before he departs for home. There’s no doubt he will return to complete his Hyena hunt and pursue other fine Zambian game in the near future.

Both Thor and Brett, and the entire Munyamadzi team, would like to acknowledge the best wishes and prayers of so many from the AR family.

Your support is greatly appreciated.

Ridgeman, thanks for the update. Do you think that was your hyena blind that fell? Thor, get well soon. Thoughts and prayers on your behalf.

Hi Tom.
Yes it was the same blind.
They were on track to better my time for the quickest Hyena sit as a brute had been flushed in daylight behind the bait earlier.
A lion had thwarted plans to feed the night before so we knew he/she would be hungry.
So glad they’re both O.K.

Good news

On the plains of hesitation lie the bleached bones of ten thousand, who on the dawn of victory lay down their weary heads resting, and there resting, died.

If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue,
Or walk with Kings - nor lose the common touch...
Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it,
And - which is more - you'll be a Man, my son!

Very happy to hear this.

I wonder if you have any good friend around who might speed your recovery.

I had some friends playing cards once in our house by the beach.

One was born with a walking disability - have no idea what it is called, but his upper body is fully developed, while below the waste was not.

He walks slowly with a stick, and has problems getting up.

Anyway, on this particular day I found a snake.

I killed it, and thought it might be an idea to see what happens if I throw it at them.

I never realized that we would make an incredible medical discovery.

I took the snake in, and dropped it in the middle of that crowd - I think they were 8.

All hell broke loose, and everyone disappeared in a flash, running outside to the car park.

After all the screaming has died down, I saw Ahmed - that is my friend with the walking disability sitting in the front seat of a car.

He did not have his walking stick with him, as he left it behind.

I said "How did you get here?"
"What?"

"How did you get here. How did you manage to run through that room, through the kitchen, and get into the car?"

"I don't know"

"What do you mean you don't know?"

"I don't know! Everyone started screaming, and I saw the snake! And next thing I know I was right here!!"

"You mean no one helped you?"

"HELP me? You must be kidding! They took off like a bolt of lightning! And then I found myself here!"

So you see, all one of your friends need do is give you a bit of a scare, and you will recover very quickly clap

Saeed:

My first wife had been rattlesnake bit twice. I'd wake up in the middle of the night with her having nightmares about it beating the hell out me!

It took a few years for her to get over it. Like a dumb ass "us boys" digging night crawlers to go fishing I found one about 8" long and 3/8" dia. Dropped it in her plate.

I paid for that just about every night for the next 3 years!

Be careful what you wish for mates!!

Had lunch with Thor a few days ago and he is still in some pain and requires another months rest.

Brent had the retaining brace in his elbow removed and is also doing fine.
