Since I'm not a wood and blued steel guy this rifle very much appeals to me in a practical sense plus I think it is very pleasing to the eye. I really like the style of the stock.

I have had 2 prechtl rifles and they are top notch. I don't like the leather part but like the rest including the caliber. I have not seen the price.

I'm worried over the magazine capacity. It says it is "two bullets." I'd prefer at least that number of cartridges.

Just what we need an ultralight carbon fiber Blaser in .338 Lapua.

Obviously someone wants one, but not me.

Butch, if you put cement overshoes on a Blaser, the fish would return it to your boat. You may never get another bite if they hear you suggested polluting their homes like that... Fish have feelings too. #Fishlivesmatter!

That is a matter of taste! I too am drawn to fine wood and rust blued steel. IMO, however, is this rifle is as new as tomorrow, and as traditional as 1898 combined in one rifle.

The carbon fiber stock is very well done and to my eye is a thing of beauty in a bolt rifle. The action is about as traditional as it can be made, with a proper safety that blocks the striker rather than just the trigger. The action has a very well done control feed bolt. While the scope attachment is traditional yet as secure maintaining zero with removal, and reattachment fitted on a traditional square bridge action body that has just the right amount of gold inlay to maintain the class that is obviously the point with this maker!

My only objection to this rifle is the muzzle brake, which is permanently fixed to the barrel. It would be fine is it was simply threaded so it could be removed for hunting and replaced for target shooting from a bench. I don’t have a desire for the cartridges mentioned but in traditional hunting chamberings it would be a fine piece to own and hunt with, especially for things like mountain sheep.

All the above may seem strange coming from a person who is, in most opinions here, a double rifle addict, but I own far more bolt rifles than I do doubles, so can appreciate a well designed rifle of any persuasion.

In my case I would not likely buy that rifle but I can see the reasons other would buy it!

I agree, Mac. Except, in my case, I would be inclined to buy that rifle if it could be had with a removable brake. I would prefer it chambered in .300 RUM. Brilliantly conceived and executed.

What happens if you drop it? Especially flat on some rocks etc. I saw a carbon fiber stock crack easily before. And it used to kick like a mule.

Mac,

Agree on the brake. I've come around to synthetic stocks over the years and now actually prefer them for hunting rifles. One more concern, however, although this is not a big bore so it's a lot less critical, I generally like 4 down. Other than that, it looks like a great rifle.

I certainly prefer Kevlar based stocks to Carbon fibre. Not brittle, flexible and soaks up the recoil. I like the shape and to some degree the look but on two down would rule it out for me. Prefer 5 or 4 down, but that is just me.

If you like that particular action, it can be had with a wood stock as well, I presume.

I'd give up hunting and shooting and join PETA before I'd use something that looks like this.
But, that's just my opinion.
