Dear Disgusted
We get into some pissing contest from time to time.
We argue over which bullet is best for whatever purpose.
We argue over shot placement & who was to blame when something went wrong.
But gossip is not our thing here on AR.
We have discussions about things, events & yes, people that effect us & the safari industry.
Sometimes on AR people get exposed for the sorry pieces of shit that they are & usually some NEW MEMBER will pop up defending them. (it's usually the person in question)
So since your very first post did just that, welcome to AR Arnold!

LORD, let my bullets go where my crosshairs show.

Government threatened to nationalise Save Valley Conservancy

Sunday, 22 July 2012 10:00

The government threatened to nationalise the Save Valley Conservancy reported to be the largest private wildlife reserve in Africa and had even recommended an indigenous partner for the owners.
The conservancy was founded in 1992 by 14 separate property owners from Zimbabwe, the United States, Germany, Italy, and South Africa to breed a number of endangered species.

The government had, however, redistributed land to small-scale farmers in the southern portion of SVC, encroaching on the Conservancy and encircling Hammond Ranch, owned by an American investor, the Schenck family.

The government had also threatened to nationalise the whole conservancy, which would then be leased out for 25-year terms for wildlife resource management.

SVC’s manager, Clive Stockil, engaged with the government to seek an agreement on how to achieve both SVC’s wildlife protection and the government’s indigenisation objectives.

According to Stockil and the Schencks, SVC negotiated an indigenisation plan with Special Affairs Minister John Nkomo.

Nkomo introduced Stockil to a black-owned firm, Traditions. SVC was to include Traditions as minority partner in exchange for additional land from the government and some asset investment.

The fourteen original owners were to retain their properties but a diminished stake in the incorporated conservancy. The government would remove- and no longer resettle- A1 farmers in SVC.

But the government changed its mind when the MOU was ready for signature.

I find it interesting that you all can talk a bunch of nonsense about a person but none of you so called “men” would have the balls to say these things to this Payne/Drummond people to their faces.

Any intelligent person knows that there are two sides to every story. Apparently, that is not the case for the people posting to this post/website. You take what ONE person says and you go with it. Get a life.

All of you Zimbabweans are the same. You like to gossip and bring the next person down. If someone tries to succeed in your country you can rest assured there will be someone to bring you down. That is why your country is such a mess. If you all stuck together (black or white) then maybe your country would have a chance. Stop posting such rubbish.

Zim is a failed state; there is no security of title and no rule of law. You do business there, you take your chances, most sensible people know that.

What upsets AR members is when unscrupulous scum bags, particularly outsiders, use the conditions of corruption in Zim to profit at the expense of our friends, whom we see as victims.

Absolute power corrupts absolutely. Mix that with the "race" card that can be pulled out to counter whatever logical reason or rational argument you propose and you have another African sucess story.....

OK Arnold, here is your chance to give the other side of the story.

1. Are you selling hunts on seized property in violation of the Lacy act?

2. Why are you using hunters' trophy pictures who did not hunt with you?

3. would an American hunter be violating the Lacy act by hunting with your outfit due to your partnership with Shuvai Ben Mahofa who is on the US restricted list?

In my opinion you are a complete scumbag and a parasite. I also believe anyone who does book a hunt with your operation either has the same lack of morals as you, is completely misinformed by you, or is an idiot.

What I find very funny is the fact that whoever this idiot is, he is calling us all cowards, while he does not have the balls to tell us who he really is.

Disgusted,

The nice thing about an open forum like this is that anyone can come on and give their opinion or their side of the story. Why don't you invite Payne/Drummond to do just that?

I don't have a dog in this specific fight, but certainly it seems very bad for the legitimate & historic owners!

What I'd like to emphasise is how these forums "tick" along and the best way is to show you my signature on another similar, but more local forum. It's "How seriously can you take an anonymous poster...?"

Coincidence is a funny thing. It just so happens that the client is also less than upstanding. Have had my eye on him for some time and his activities are, I hope, likely to land him in the trouble he deserves.

I have seen his picture with MANY trophy class animals all with the same company in the RSA. I think it is Stone Safaris but I am not 100% certain.

Disgusting.

Ok guys, here is the latest I have. I just retuned from a couple days in SVC. I hunted for council meat on Masopos, Mokore, and then drove to Savuli camp. Met a few influential people along the way. As of Wednesday morning there were some fantastic promises for the SVC operators. Many of them are carrying on, looks as if quotas are being released. Again, TIA, but if you have a hunt coming up do not throw in the towel. Call your PH.

Drummond is still on Savuli. He is using all of Terry's trucks, tractors, generator, pumps...., What a freaking putz!

Anyway just wanted to throw some positive news out there, throngs are for sure looking up.
