I was hunting with Charlton McCallum Safaris at their Makuti area. Alan Shearing was our PH and we will definately be hunting with him again!

Hey Bryan, you bet. Shannon has to be the lovliest buffalo hunter I've seen in many years.

Lee, thanks for the generous comment. I can assure you Brita and I LOVED that evening in camp with you and Shannon. So pleased you nailed that big eland after we left camp. Finally, thank you for your invitation, hope you won't regret it!
Take care, both of you.
Richard.

Richard,

I hope you and Brita had a great time on your hunt. Shannon and I would love to have you both any time here in Arizona. Next time we are in Zim we'll be sure to look you up.

Lee

Lee,

We did indeed have a great safari down in the Valley. First four days in and amongst many cow elephant herds looking for the right tuskless one to shoot. The young man I accompanied took a good one.

The buffalo hunt with his father was equally exciting. Tracked and stalked three good old bulls in the riverine forest of the Rekomitje river, boundary with Mana Pools National Park. My friend put a .375 bullet up the snout of the targeted bull as it watched us. It simply turned and ran off!

An hour and a half of tense tracking through the forest and into very thick jesse kept all thoughts of sleep walking at bay! Caught them (they stayed together after the shot) in a tiny opening in the jesse at 15 yards and I put the fellow down with a heart shot with the .458 Win Mag. The bullet passed right through both shoulders and the old man dropped right there.

A 14' 5" croc was taken, plus a horde of baboons, half a dozen hyenas and a container full of impala. The youngsters had a real ball!

Take care, both of you.
Richard.

Lee, very nice report and great pics. Congrats on the eland ....... oh yeah, congrats on the marriage, too Smiler

You know the downside of that, don't you? Now every years she's going to be wanting to go back. Hmmmmm, or is it really a downside !

Enjoyed meeting you here in Dallas .. hope to see you again this year.
