I wanted to take a moment and share with you the positive experience that occured with SheSafari, a purveyor of fieldware for women.

My fiance and I are taking our first trip to Africa in a couple of very short weeks. I wanted to make sure that she had gear that fit and looked good.

Initially, there were some miscues with the order, but the owner, Pam, stepped up to the plate squared away the initial order and is as of this writing sending additional items for my fiance to try on since some of the initial sizing didn't quite work out.

I am taking the inital box of items to the post this afternoon, but I thought it was important to say thanks to Pam, but also to let folks know what kind of an operation she runs and of a very positive experience.

Bill

Bill, I wish you and your fiance a safe journey and a fantastic trip. Be sure to give us a report on how your fiance liked or disliked her gear. Not enough companies are addressing the female hunting gear, so sometimes they have to resort to buying mens wear/gear. Sounds like Pam at SheSafari is doing a stand up job. Good hunting, LDK

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

Bill,

I am glad that things got sorted out.

Pam is one of the good ones. She and the rest of the folks at SheSafari take great pride in offering quality clothing designed specifically for ladies.

Give us a report when you get back.

Enjoy your safari.

Regards,

Mario

Mrs Blacktailer was looking at the clothing by SheSafari and the other outfit that makes ladies clothing (the one with CG?) at DSC this year. While it looked stylish, Mrs Blacktailer hunts and crawls through the thorn and jess like the rest of us and she was unimpressed by the choice in fabrics and durability of the "made for women" stuff. We bought her a number of items from Tagg. While she hates going hunting looking like one of the guys (if you have met Mrs Blacktailer, you know she never looks like a guy), she would rather dress like a guy and be comfortable. She is still looking for quality hunting clothing that is tailored for women Wink if you know of any, please let us know.

I think Long Grass carries women's clothing in the right fabric/weight to be out in the field. I'm not sure about sizing etc. You might check them out. http://www.long-grass.com/

Been there and done that for sooooo long! I will tell you that if you get the SheSafari pants in the 8 oz weight they will go the distance in the bush, as will the Long Grass shirts for females. I have really serious issues with women's safari clothes - or the lack thereof. It seems as though all the manufacturers think just putting a different size on guy's clothes will do it. NOT!

Don't sell the SheSafari and LongGrass stuff short. Try it - literally - in the field - before you knock it. I have hunted in it and also just shown up in it for looks and it does both very well. Let us know!

I used Cabelas safari clothes in Namibia, but I wouldn't say they were the ideal choice.

In the Kalahari they were great, but in the thornbush near Windhoek they were shreded.

I am not sure if the Cabelas stuff comes in Women sizes or not. www.cabelas.com

RCG My wife and I both buy and use Boyt apparel and luggage and found it to good stuff. Tag clothing has been a bit less satisfactory in that after laundering the sleeves become too short and longer sleeves are not available. We both like their fabrics, colors (drab) and styles. My wife finds the sleeve length just fine. Adrian
