I posted this in the Taxidermy section and got no response, so I thought I would try here.

I just relocated from Houston, TX to Phoenix. Can anyone recommend a taxidermest here in Phoenix who is good with African animals?

I live In Mesa, AZ

My taxidermist in Apache junction (he did my Eland) just moved his business from Phoenix to south Texas 2 months ago so I am looking just like you.

Just stop by showrooms and interview them.

Thats what I'm doing.

If I find someone impressive i'll post it.

Please do the same.

Good Luck

Mark Plunkett at Wildlife Creations (602-863-3473) does excellent work on African critters. In fact, he's in the middle of doing eight for me right now. I already got my gemsbok, kudu and nyala. I think there's a photo of the mounted gemsbok in the Trophy Room section under one of my threads. Blue and black wildebeest almost done.

Now, the bad news: he might not want your work because he will be snowed under. His top assistant is having surgery on both wrists next month for carpal tunnel syndrome. Won't hurt to call him, though. -TONY
