I have only shot two - both 'ferals' so I could get quite close (35 yards). I shot one in the brain with a .22lr and one in the neck with a .30-06....the neck doubled over like a hair-pin at the shot - quite strange! I noticed one thing on both of these...man did they kick for a while. All game kicks a bit when the CNS/Brain is hit but trully, these ostriches kicked and kicked for a couple of minutes! Spun themslevs in cirlces, kicking up clouds of dust, making one wonder if they needed a second shot! | |||
