When I was in namibia, my PH was trying to get me to shoot one. Said that women liked to have purses made out of ostrich hide or something like that. Did not turn me on. Where the hell do you shoot one of these anyway?

I've found the very best place is right up the ass...... but the odd thing is that if you shoot the males there, they develop an erection that stays rock hard for a looooong time. - which always gives the staff one hell of a laugh.

I have only shot two - both 'ferals' so I could get quite close (35 yards).
I shot one in the brain with a .22lr and one in the neck with a .30-06....the neck doubled over like a hair-pin at the shot - quite strange!

I noticed one thing on both of these...man did they kick for a while. All game kicks a bit when the CNS/Brain is hit but trully, these ostriches kicked and kicked for a couple of minutes! Spun themslevs in cirlces, kicking up clouds of dust, making one wonder if they needed a second shot!
