Man, was there long tears when I dropped them off at the airport last night dind't they want to stay for longer. CRYBABY

I think our last day the Sunday was the best with everyone bagging at least one animal in one day on the last day. Me and Hans Olof were close on the trail of some good kudu bulls but they outsmarted us and we decided to give them some time to relax going to a other area where we found the very nice hartebeest he bagged.

Anyway the new hunter is very happy and especially proud that is warthog could be bigger than his fathers biggest wartie. beer

OK, we are back and it took me some time to get online again since my internet connections was out by thunder strikes, actually worked better in the bush Big Grin

It's a pleasure to recieve all positive comments and I must tell you that I am a very proud father as Alexander is proud over his hunt and liked Africa a lot, I am sure he will like to come back again.

There will be no movie about this hunt even if we have it all on film, at least not while Alexander is still young, maybe in 10 years or so, we will see.

About Reno and Dallas I will try to be there but it will not be possible to bring Alexander since he will miss 14 days from School but maybe in the future we should try to go to one of the places at least.

Tim, he looks forward to try the 50 BMG!

Then to the fact that we let Alexander share a sundowner with us, and even if the amount of alcohol was less than some ciders that we drink here in Sweden (kids also) I can understand the concern. My point of view is however that it is better to take the secret away from alcohol and aslo it is very important to talk to your kids about what problems alcohol can cause and make sure to have a close and reliable relation to your kid.

You guys really had a wonderful time. Very nice pictures, thanks for sharing your trip with us. Again congratulations to Alexander on his achievements, and to dad who taught him and let him do it.

I must agree with you. I never kept my kids away from alcohol and I always allowed them to have a sip. Today my daughter is 20 and my son 17 and alcohol does not bother them. I always have beers etc. in the house and 99% of the time I offer them something to drink, they prefer a fruit juice.

No secret = No problem

Beautiful pictures Christer and a great story !
To see a son sheare such an adventure with his father and friend, is heartwarming Wink

About the Taxidermy International...I left my trophies with them in May by recomondation from our outfitter Clive Perkins.
Can I ask if you use them as well, and what is your experience ??

That is a huge warthog, cangratulations to Alexander. beer

Maybe you must give him a couple of sundowners to get him to sleep late one morning, that way you might also get a chance jumping

Nah just slip a little ex-lax in his pepsi. That way he will get caught with his pants down then ole dad can shoot a little. Big Grin

Easiest way to solve it is to book a new hunt (in progress) without JR, but I can tell you that from now on it will feel strange to go without him....

Even though some of the photos are the same or from the same animals and trophies I enjoyed this hunt very much. And I'm especially honored to bring a new hunter to the field. Hopefully in a couple of years time my son will go the same path and bag his first animal.

What Christer did however left from his post his that the shot on the impala ewe was perfectly executed. She almost dropped on the spot on the heart shot. What was also a bonus is that Alexander could follow the ewe untill she dropped 50 meters further without the worry of her being wounded. Cool

The warthog what can I say I think this photo shows the real size of this hog. You don't find warthogs this size around every bush. This was a diffcult shot as it was a angled shot and time was short I could see that he sensed us and we had to let fly. But without hesitation Alexander let fly as soon as I gave him the go ahead. The hit looked very good and after the video replay we saw the bullet didn't exit. We tracked him for about 150meters before I started to worry about the tracks with so many numerous warthog tracks around the area. I told Christer to stand and wait and had a hunch that the tracks I followed was the right one suddenly veering off to the right. And voila the warthog was lying facing us 50 meters from where I left Christer them. Not a speck of blood the whole way the bullet entered in the shoulder from the front at an angle taking out both lungs. A perfectly exucuted shot again Cool

Just another pic of the warthog sow I shot, I think we took great care in taking great photos which makes the trip so much more rewarding. Doesn't she look peacefull and dignified ?

After the great kudus gave us the slip I decided to move to another area and look for red hartebeest I think Hans Olof saw a red hartebeest on his second day of the hunt and that is when he decided to have one since they are such great animals. Spotting impalas a mere 30 meters from us we took a stand behind a raisin bush looking for a good impala ram when suddenly Hans Olof took my attetion to the left where a darker bodied animal was grazing, at first glance I thought it was a old impala ram but then saw the horns and told Hans Olof to take him. The hartbees was standing in a bit of a depression making him impala height giving me a scare as well on the body size but the horns didn't lie. Hans olof acted quickly and bagged this magnificent bull he was old but his points never started to grow horisontal instead keeping high and pointed very unique.
