On the first hunting day in South Africa my son Alexander 10 years old has taken two Impalas, the first a female and the second one a male, both were taken at the same waterhole within two hours this afternoon. PH is Frederik Cocquyt aka Safari-Hunt

Alexander and me with his old female impala that had grey hair on her head.

Alexander with his 20 inch Impala ram.

Some traditional rituals took place Cool

Sundowner with his PH Safari-Hunt, next one has to wait many years.

Our friend Hans-Olof Andersson also from Sweden shot a nice Duiker.

I will be back with more reports from our camp during our 7 day hunt here in South Africa

Congratulations to both you and Alexander.

Important memories that will last forever.

My 10 year old son made his first handgun kill last weekend. It was only a jack rabbit but I couldn't have been more proud.

Great hunting with great hunters,

Well done Alexander and Hans. Christer, you can for sure be proud on your son. Seems to me he knows how to handle that 308.

Alexander earned himself a piece of Impala biltong. It will be ready for pickup when you come through Pretoria.

When does the double get a chance?

Just got off the phone with Christer and the boys. they had another good day, though it seems young Alexander takes after Christer and get's a little trigger happy! He's learning about restraint, though he did get a duiker!

They are at the butcher shop dropping off some meat and seeing of they can piece together a couple Jackels that Christer dissected. He said he'll be posting some pictures and updates later.

Congratulations to both you and Alexander. The only downside is that you will now have to pay for two hunters on all of your future safaris!

On your next trip to California, we will have to be sure to take Alexander (and Trevor Jackson) out when we shoot the .50 BMG at jack rabbits.

I took my son Jack (3.5 yrs old) to the SCI Youth Safari fair two weeks ago. He caught his first fish, shot a bow & arrow and shot a Ruger .22 pistol, all in one day. He seems hooked now and can't wait to join me on our next outdoor adventure. Having kids join you brings a new dimension to the joy of hunting and fishing.

Good job!

Tim

Jaco, we are sorry for the confusion but our office is a bush office and its easy to slip on a key and make a small misstake, it should however be fixed now.

This pictures from our bush office were taken 3 minutes ago.

BTW, the reason for the bush office is taht there is were we have cellphone connection, if its blowing from the right direction and the weather is in a certain way :-)

Special update

Alexander shot a huge Warthog at 11.30 today at a waterhole. Tusks were 12+11 outside and body is close to 100 kilogram.

Alexander with his warthog

The huge tusker

Alexander, me and Frederik posing behind the big tusker.

We sat in a blind when Frederik saw a warthog coming in, Alexander shot as soon as he had an opportunity and the warthog ran away. We could not find any blood but could see on the video that the bullet never exited. We tracked the warthog 200 meter without finding any blood and there he was, turned towards us as been ready for a fighting end.

Rifle used was Alexanders Varberger Super Light Kevlar in 308 Win loaded with Rhino bullets in 150 grains.

I never got into the wiping blood on the face thing or even a little alcohol for minors, but to each his own.

Hopefully, your son cherishes the memories afield with dad for a long time.

You've got problems. I think your hunting days are over. The kids do all the hunting and it leaves dad to be proud of them. I'm in the same boat. clap

That is a huge warthog, cangratulations to Alexander. beer

Maybe you must give him a couple of sundowners to get him to sleep late one morning, that way you might also get a chance jumping
