I have heard that in RSA they are only going to release about half the tags for leopard. Usually there are 150 tags but they are only going to release 50-75 of them. Anyone hear anything about this?

I found what I was looking for at:

https://www.huntingreport.com/...ent_issue.cfm?id=530

It is a little bit different than what I was understanding but still not good for me as I was looking at trying to go in early October.

David, my RSA PH's had advised me to book your hunt and your name would be put in for the drawing. If drawn, you take the hunt. If not, a refund would be issued. Each permit will have the successful applicant's name on it. This assures compliance with the law.
Good hunting,
David

"Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading" - Thomas Jefferson

Every morning the Zebra wakes up knowing it must outrun the fastest Lion if it wants to stay alive. Every morning the Lion wakes up knowing it must outrun the slowest Zebra or it will starve. It makes no difference if you are a Zebra or a Lion; when the Sun comes up in Africa, you must wake up running......

"If you're being chased by a Lion, you don't have to be faster than the Lion, you just have to be faster than the person next to you."

the problem i see with this kind of thing is that a client books his hunt, makes his plans, buys his airplane tickets and the gets canceled. OK so the hunt can be rescheduled at no cost, but how about the airlines? they just keep the couple grand and say tough chit

My PH and I scrambled and got all the paperwork filled out this morning to meet the application deadline which is tomorrow. Moved my dates up to the end of August beginning of September to hopefully get a better chance at a tag. If we do not get a tag we will just hunt other things. Either way I will have fun.

If we get the tag hopefully I will get the leopard this time, this will be my second leopard hunt.

Good Hunting,
