I just wanted to have my own please delete post. I wanted to post something germane, but decided to just post a post that could be deleted. Please delete my deleted post. If my please delete post is not deleted then I intend to start a post on a hero worship topic suitable for deletion.

I would support your personal right to be deleted.

Steve AhrenbergI respectfully disagree Jim, Nobody has a constitution right for deletion. It is a right that is not specifically enumerated. But in general, I agree with one's self deletion "privileges"

If I start a thread about you being the object of our hero worship should it be deleted?

MJinesWhile I have never shot anyone, there are plenty of people I have wanted to shoot. There are also a lot of animals that others have shot, that I wanted to shoot too. In the words of Jimmy Carter, if you have "thunk it" you have "dun it". So I definitely qualify for vilification, personal attack, character assassination, scorn and ridicule . . . and ultimately thread deletion.

Thanks so much for sharing your concise thinking processes with us all. I feel so much more comfortable now that I know the real you. Please continue with your heart felt thoughts so that we all can emulate the same.
Although I have never had to shoot another person, I have testimonies from many, from my Father (WWII), my Brother (Vietnam), and many fellow service members, I cannot recall anyone who said they really wanted to shoot another person.
I guess that's the difference between computer combat and the real thing.

Your posts indicate that maybe you've had one too many. Quit typing after 3 Scotches. If you think you're funny or satirical, then you need another drink to convince yourself.

Good advice, but I've had no Scotches. When I drink Scotch, I have a rule. Only at home, only with friends, and never an argument. One has to know their limitations.

MJinesPerhaps old Abe said it best, you can please some of the people some of the time, all of the people some of the time, some of the people all the time, but you can never please all the people all the time. Sort of not surprising that someone with so many rules to be followed just for enjoying an adult libation would have a hard time loosening up a little.

While this thread started as funny, once it went here:
"While I have never shot anyone, there are plenty of people I have wanted to shoot. There are also a lot of animals that others have shot, that I wanted to shoot too. In the words of Jimmy Carter, if you have "thunk it" you have "dun it". then something took over. I think it was the Scotch. But that's OK. In earlier times, Scotch took over for me a few times. Isn't humor all so relative, depending upon your prejudice, lack of experience, ignorance, or just plain naivety?
Mike may have thought he was all tongue-in-cheek, but based upon his posts against CB, I don't see any relevant tongue-in-cheek stuff.
ThomasJohn had no intention of starting a thread about bankruptucy, but Larry Shores, AZ Writer, and Mike Jines hijacked it and took it into their own realm of personal vendettas.
My question, in all honesty, is why these three, and a few others, have such a vendetta against CB? What has he personally done to them? None of them, nor their cohorts combined, has done more worldwide for hunting than CB has done.
Now Craig may have had a couple of wives, had financial problems, and made some poor decisions, but who are these guys to be Judge, Jury, and Prosecutor? I think there's something in the Bible about that line of thinking for those of you who are thumpers.
I would say, if you don't like what either CB or MS has to say, don't buy their stuff or book hunts with them. Get over your personal and professional vendettas against CB and MS. They are both are friends.

ZephyrSomeone sent this to me the other day, being that it originated in Texas I thought it might be germane.
Most politicians are adept at being staunchly in favor of various sides of an argument, depending on the audience. But Texans apparently have a tradition of excellence in this regard. Context is everything.
In 1952, Armon M. Sweat, Jr., a member of the Texas House of Representatives, was asked about his position on whiskey. What follows is his exact answer (taken from the Political Archives of Texas):
"If you mean whiskey, the devil's brew, the poison scourge, the bloody monster that defiles innocence, dethrones reason, destroys the home, creates misery and poverty, yea, literally takes the bread from the mouths of little children; if you mean that evil drink that topples Christian men and women from the pinnacles of righteous and gracious living into the bottomless pit of degradation, shame, despair, helplessness, and hopelessness, then, my friend, I am opposed to it with every fiber of my being.
However, if by whiskey you mean the lubricant of conversation, the philosophic juice, the elixir of life, the liquid that is consumed when good fellows get together, that puts a song in their hearts and the warm glow of contentment in their eyes; if you mean Christmas cheer, the stimulating sip that puts a little spring in the step of an elderly gentleman on a frosty morning; if you mean that drink that enables man to magnify his joy, and to forget life's great tragedies and heartbreaks and sorrow; if you mean that drink the sale of which pours into Texas treasuries untold millions of dollars each year, which provides tender care for our little crippled children, our blind, our deaf, our dumb, our pitifully aged and infirm, to build the finest highways, hospitals, universities, and community colleges in this nation, then my friend, I am absolutely, unequivocally in favor of it.
This is my position, and as always, I refuse to compromise on matters of principle."

Perhaps you should go back and review the other thread. I am not the one who brought it up. I, in fact, didn't post anything about the bankruptcy for a long time. No where did I hammer CB.
01 December 2013, 17:48
MJinesWell, let's see, we have now pulled into this thread, started as a parody on the rash of "please delete" posts, Craig Boddington, Mark Sullivan, SCI, but we have yet to drag in Blair Worldwide, Out of Africa, bolt rifles versus double rifles or whether Shootaway is actually adrook is actually Trax is actually Larry Root is actually . . .
C'mon I know this group is better than this, surely someone has read an article on the internet that was left in a bathroom at a gun show that definitively proves that Mark Sullivan is the lead investor in Out of Africa, Boddington is declaring bankruptcy to shield his affiliation with Blair Worldwide, single shot rifles are actually better dangerous game rifles than either bolt action rifles or double rifles and Shootaway is in fact the alter ego/nom de plume for all of the above?

MD:
Go back and read what I posted. ThomasJohn started a post that the Boddington website was back, ostensibly so we can all go and buy books and videos.
My response was that I am done buying his stuff (Safari Rifles has accompanied me to Africa six times; kind of a tradition for me) for the reasons stated. No where did I say, "Hey, let's all gang up and not buy anything from CB." Or, "Let's all write letters to his sponsors."
I stated my position. Knowing how most on AR work (Boddington is the epitome of all that is good and right in the world), I offered to send the BK filing to anyone who was interested.
The fact is, he has spent money he doesn't have. Apparently that is not a big deal to you, but as another poster said, if you were on the other side of BK, you might feel differently. I have been burned by three BKs and am getting ready to get burned by a fourth, who will use it to avoid a legal judgment that I have.
I could have done a lot more hunting had I not been burned by those BKs. So no, I don't respect someone who uses BK at the expense of others but continues to spend money on hunting. Obviously, many do not agree with me; I certainly would agree that is their right.
