An interesting Mexican "Lion"
It seems there was a garage in New Mexico that was constantly being robbed after hours when the owner had a brain-storm and brought in a Mexican "Lion" to guard the place at night.

Another view.

At night? In the dark?

Not to start a controversy but this one may have been captive reared.

As we speak, there is a 200 Ha place in RSA that is raising these by the kennel full. They have some locals that will claim there is a maneater amongst them. Some dummy from the USA is being faxed photos to chose one from. He's buying new safari clothes to wear.

Standby for video on Youtube of the 'hunt'.

May fordings never be too deep, And alders not too thick; May rock slides never be too steep And ridges not too slick.
And may your bullets shoot as swell As Fred Bear's arrow's flew; And may your nose work just as well As Jack O'Connor's too.
May winds be never at your tail When stalking down the steep; May bears be never on your trail When packing out your sheep.
May the hundred pounds upon you Not make you break or trip; And may the plane in which you flew Await you at the strip.

Awesome dog. Wonder what breed.

When I was a kid we use to sheer our collie dog like that in the summer because of the heat. She would hide under the porch for a week after the sheering. Big Grin

He's got a better mane than some of those I've seen shot on video.

Of course this is nothing compared to the Masaichihuahua province Mexican lion:

...which of course can only be baited by Masaichihuahua cattle:

However the Masaichihuahua lions are much more thickly maned than the Brazilian lion which is of course hairless due to the hot climate and thorn srub in which it inhabits:
