One of the good members of Bowsite.com has started an online petition to boycott Camping World. You can easily access it and sign it, the whole thing takes less than a minute to do. After signing it, please send it along to your friends for them to do the same. The signed petition automatically goes to the inbox of Marcus Lemonis, CEO of Camping World, and his boss, Stephen Adams, Chairman of Good Sam Family, the parent company of Camping World.

Here's the link: https://www.change.org/petitio...amping-world-boycott

Not a fan of people having all of my personal info like that or I would sign it. All I need is more spam mail or even the anti group to get a hold of the list and start harrassing me. Sorry. Wish there was another way to support it. i sent a letter to Mr. Lemon or whatever his name was and got a response. It wasn't a very nice one and I never got another one back after my second response.

At this point the only thing I don't like worse than this Camping World thing is the Bowsite!! Wouldn't have anything to do with or be associated with anything Bowsite. And I am an avid bowhunter so that isn't the issue.

Isn't bowsite where one is not allowed to post anything negative on canned hunt?

The email address for Stephen Adams listed on the petition website does not work. I tried to send him a copy of the email I sent to Mr. Lemonis but it bounced back to me. Would someone please try it and see if it works for you.

Dude, your information is all over the internet already. All you do by not signing the petition is support the folks wanting to stop hunting. I am sure they appreciate your support.

They have withdrawn their sponsorship of "The Apprentice" because of the Trump boys legally hunting in Zimbabwe and folks feel that as an outdoors RV retailer they cant support people who dont support Conservation through well managed legal hunting.

Thanks. It looks like they ship internationally but do not have official outlets in SA. It would be prudent for RV purchasers to ask if Camping World is the source of what is purchased here in SA and then take the business elsewhere.

Do you honestly believe it will really hurt them if you take your business somewhere else? I bet most of you who have boycotted probably spend most of your "outdoors" money with someone else.

When you think of it the greenies will be buying exactly the same stuff you do with exception to anything directly related to the "killing" part and those items are normally selected items which Mr. Lemonis & Co. most likely does not cater for.

Besides, he's already told most that he doesn't give two hoots for their business - yes, he might have retracted his statement but in the heat of the moment it is also true to say that the truth was spoken.

When you do not spend your money with an organisation, because of a moral issue, it is good to tell them so. If you just stay away, they do not know what to fix to get you back. If an organisation knowingly takes a different moral view from mine, they still need to know that I differ from them in opinion. Otherwise they do as they wish. Next time, sometimes, they will temper their decision to cater to a bunny hugger.

Saeed - You are absolutely correct. Canned hunts are the norm by the owner and if you say anything bad about "canned hunts" you are not welcome!! archer

Guys, Bowsite is a very active community of archers, and probably the largest archery/bowhunting oriented website in existence. What Saeed is referring to is that when someone starts a new thread there, they as the owner of that thread have the option of designating it "Debate Free". There is plenty of disagreement over there, including about canned hunts, so Pat Lefamine, the owner of Bowsite, decided to institute a feature where you can disallow debate. A lot of legitimate hunters got tired of the critical nature of some posters, hence the change. It's a good hunting website with lots of ethical hunters visiting regularly, so cut them a little slack.

DLS - The bowsite is disgusting no matter how large you claim it is. Check out the thread here by Aaron about RSA canned lion, the owner of the bowsite did the same thing these assholes did. thumbdown I am a bowhunter of 53 years so this isn't a slam against bowhunters, just the pathetic owner of that site. What a loser.

Larry, I will take a look at that. I'm not aware of it, haven't seen it, so can't comment. IF, and that's a big IF, Pat Lefamine engaged in a canned lion hunt, then I'll be right there to comment against it, and I've been frequenting the forums on Bowsite for probably close to ten years. I have no problem being critical of that practice, no matter who does it.

Larry, Aaron, Saeed or whoever... help me find the thread Larry references. I went to the lion forum but can't find any obvious thread to which Larry refers.

DLS,

Try this link.

I spend a fair amount of time there but normally on the leatherwall (traditional archery) side. Over all I still think there is more good than bad but that's just my opinion.

OK, I went to the 'semi-live' hunt on Bowsite, via that link. I hadn't seen that one originally, though I've read a few of the other semi-live hunts that Pat Lefemine and other bowsiters have posted over time. Maybe I'm missing something that quite a few of you figured out, but I don't have nearly the problem with Pat's lion 'hunt or shoot', whatever you want to call it, as I have with this dipstick who's shoot started this whole thread.

Pat is pretty up-front in explaining that he understood this lion was raised and released some months prior to his arrival, for the express purpose of hunting him. While it certainly isn't my cup of tea (I've only hunted lions twice, once in Zim over bait and once in Botswana, tracking them on foot for miles) I'm not going to complain about how Pat went about this hunt. I'd be interested in reading the issue or problem that others had with it, and how you think it compares to this abomination that we've all universally condemned with 'Vinny' or whoever that idiot is.

One thing about Pet Lefemine and his semi-live hunts, he's gone on plenty that were unsuccessful in regards to taking animals.

Nor is there any way on earth that I would ever buy anything from Camping World.

There is absolutely, positively, no difference between the hunt on bowsite and the that Aaron posted.

For the most part, Saeed, I agree with you. The hunt on bowsite is also a canned lion hunt, HOWEVER, Pat Lefamine freely discusses that the cat was raised and released onto the property for hunting right at the beginning of his story. He did not try to suggest that it was a wild, cattle killing lion that wandered in from Botswana like some of these dipshits try to do.

Also, Mr. Lefemine at least used sufficient archery equipment, a heavy draw weight modern bow along with heavy arrows and very good broadhead. The idiot in the video Aaron posted did none of these things.

I'm not debating that they're essentially the same hunt, but at least one of the guys went about his CANNED hunt the right way, while the other guy is a totally clueless idiot. I think the video that Aaron posted is much more damaging than the semi-live bowsite pictures and narrative.

I'm not defending Pat Lefemine in any way, as I think his hunt is pretty stupid to do and post, and he's a big boy who can defend himself. I guess all I was getting at is his story did not come across like Billy Bob dipshit's did in the video that started this discussion.
