Have just heard that any shipments from Zim with Leopard, Lion or Elephant parts and parts is being held up due to a dustup between the US Fish and Wildlife agency and the Zim Natl Parks groups -- what gives with this ??

Yes this has been a problem for the last month or so! However the problem originally involved other countries as well. One bit of good news is that South Africa has gotten the permit issues settled with USFW and will begin exporting leopards after the first of the year. I believe that it is just a matter of time before Zim has the issue resolved.

My understanding is the same as yours -- I've had both an Elephant and a Croc held up since last spring -- only the last 3 months for the current problem -- but I'm told that RSA has a deal with the USF&WS and as soon as the RSA gov't people get back from their Holiday break they will begin to rework all of the export documentation in accord with the current arrangement.

Hopefully, the USF&WS won't invent a "new" problem (excuse) to confiscate trophies after the turn of the year.
