We used to go spear fishing.

We had a friend, Horst, some of you might remember him on several safaris with us.

He was a professional diver.

One day he suggested we go to an area where they had tent shaped corals.

I anchored the boat, and each of us took his spear gun and a bag and off we went.

I was mainly looking groupers.

They hide under sort of shelves, and are very hard to get out once killed.

So I came with with an idea.

I made a 44 Magnum power head.

Which I screwed onto the spear.

After killing the grouper, I took off the power head and replaced it with a hooked spear head.

After hitting it again I could drag it out.

The 44 Magnum ammo I used were reduced loads.

That way there is no nasty recoil, or loud noise.

But they did the trick.

I had a large grouper, and was swimming back to the boat.

Suddenly, I hear Walter screaming.

He had a small sand shaft on his pear, his mask was off his face, and was swimming as if he had a turbo charge 2 stroke Mercury engine strapped on.

Screaming “Help! The mommy shark after me!”

He beat me to the boat.

After we heard his story - he hit the sand shark, and another one, much large, was behind it under a ledge.

That one took off towards Walter - only way out - and hit Walter on the head, knocking his mask off!

Hortatory was laughing so much.

After Walter had recovered, Horst took us back to look for sand sharks.

Wasn’t long before we found one lying under a ledge.

Horst slowly went to it, and started stroking it!

Walter loves sweets.

Especially chocolate and ice cream.

He was also diabetic!!

He came here on his way to work in the afternoon.

Had his coffee, and started get his hands full of Cho.

We have a local company called PATCHI, they make absolutely great chocolate.

I gave him a 1 kilo box.

Off he went.

A couple of hours later, Maktoum calls and asked how much chocolate did I give Walter.

Told him a kilo.

He burst out laughing, saying Walter finished it while stuck in traffic!!?? rotflmo

One afternoon Hessa comes down to the shooting room with a chocolate moose cake Hanna has made for us.

I told Walter he better not eat any as it was very rich.

He agreed, and git himself a coffee.

He puts sweetener in his coffee to avoid the sugar!!!?

A few minutes later, I see him with a plateful of moose, with SF written on top.

He said he did that the moose was SUGAR FREE.

And marked as such!?

We gather here in my house to watch soccer matches.

And have dinner.

After dinner, we get dessert.

A 100ml vanilla ice cream with various fresh fruit on top.

One day he complained that we are doing the food part right, but not the dessert.

Food is normally a self serving buffet.

The dessert isn’t.

So the next time, I asked the girls to put a 500ml vanilla ice cream for him, add fruits, chopped chocolate and melted chocolate on top.

I was hoping he would leave some, and then I could tell him to never complain again.

He ate the lot!

Then got up, made himself a coffee, got a piece of chocolate cake, and went and sat down to eat!!??

We all went quiet!

He won again rotflmo

Fantastic anecdotes involving Walter. There is no better way to celebrate someone's life than to remember them by the laughter and joy they spread.
