Nothing beats experience, and ALF got quite a bit of that.

As we become older, I'm close to 70, I have lots of experience. I wish I were younger. The young guys want more experience. The ways of life. Captdavid

Agreed Captdavid! All the experience I have had caused some aches and pains. It's no the miles you've traveled, it's the stops you've made.

I was hunting with a young man of half my age. I am 67 now.

I said him I would love to change ages with him, and he said he would not mind, as long as he has as much fun as I have had.

Wise young man.

Joyce and I had many discussions about mortality when cancer visited the household. One thing we kept coming back to was that we have lived full lives and everything going forward is gravy.

Back to the OP

I have been reading and interacting with ALF for 11 years now. I have learned a lot from him. I have learned the hard way a couple of times that you better know what you speak of if you are going to argue with him. He does not post so often any more but all of his posts usually wreak of knowledge and experience.

No state commands such fierce pride and loyalty. Lesser mortals are pitied for their misfortune in not being born in Texas.— Queen Elizabeth II on her visit to Texas in May, 1991.

Alf is a bundle of information on Mausers and has an inviable collection of rifles. I read every post he sends, a wealth of information and has all my respect.
